Here's something about the Gooda Special which Keith correctly identified.Keith wrote:Barrie will like that one Adrian, it's quite a gooda image.
It was sold by JD Classics a few years ago and can be seen on their Previously Sold webpage.

Barrie is indeed interested Keith but perhaps not quite for the reasons you might think.Keith wrote:Barrie will like that one Adrian, it's quite a gooda image.
Firstly the article AH1951 posted (an auction catalogue?) says it had a RR 3 speed box which was never mated to the six cylinder engine, only four speed manual or auto. The three speed didn’t appear until 1966 on V8s so maybe a typo. However the article goes on to say it was made by Peel Coachworks of Kingston.
Some years ago I picked up on this one-off Mystery CAR which was identified as a Alvis made to the design of ‘Goff’ Imhoff who had several Alvises funded by his record and musical instrument shop in the eastern part of Oxford St W1 ( I used to go there to chat up girls) Here’s the link.

James E knew who the man was to go to: Simon Taylor who alludes to, but doesn’t confirm, the body designer being Peels but I think after comparing these two Photo’s we can say its at least a step nearer The Peel Bodied Bentley The similarities abound especially when you look at shots from a different angle
The Google Map shot in the middle kicked of the enquiry when I was trying to take a shot cut. It's owned long time by the house owner who despite being an expert in Elkektron (a rare aircraft alloy needing special car but he hasn't got round to dealing with it Out chat was 6 year ago and I as far as I'm aware its still there less the bits that get blown on the wind...………………. Gooda's a good, brave, but unresolved design

Much earlier. Mid to late fifties I would guess. Like the twin rear wipers! And yes that Mercedes star is a dead giveaway.

Re: Name That Car
You are quite right it is much earlier. Bumpers, tyres are give away´s. Also the front is more mid 50´s. Obviously I did not look properly at the picture before.
The rear lights do look familiar somehow.

They look like Facel Vega rear lamps, but not quite.
Nice BMW in the background too. (Never thought I would say that about a BMW!)

Re: Name That Car
It's a Mercedes 300b Pininfarina coupé 1955. I removed the wheel and boot badges but missed the one on the bonnet. The rear is very Facel Vega which I figured would throw a few off the scent. Notice the wipers on the rear window.
1964 Jensen CV-8 II
Re: Name That Car
Interesting that Mercedes would only deliver the chassis after having approved Pininfarina‘s design proposal. I thought that maybe it was a Graber...
