With a Jet engine. From a time when the British were in the forefront of automotive design/inventions.
Rover clearly saw a future in this, they designed the engine room of the new P6 to carry a jet engine.

This is quite fun!
It's a repro from a cut-up P4 Auntie Rover currently owned by Jools Holland and fitted with a Jaguar engine.
I can imagine him driving and having his passeger whistle very loudly to emulate the missing gas turbine engine.
All very 'Dan Dare' (if you're of a certain age)

Either Italian or French with Fiat 850 or Simca 1000 rear light clusters.
I would go for a Fiat derivate.

It Looks like an MGB steering wheel.
So a little ferreting in t'internet (is that cheating?) leads me to suggest it's an experimental MGB, possibly like this:

Counen made a dozend or so coupes on a MGB Roadster chassis - a year or two later the MGB GT was introduced.

Le monstre - a Cunningham Special based on the same chassis as the car behind. Was the first attempt of Briggs Cunningham to win Le Mans.

From a buddy of mine who is a big Briggs Cunningham fan -

It took some guts to stake your reputation on that thing. Briggs (then living in CT) had connections with some Grumman Aircraft people in Bethpage, NY (Long Island). The Grumman guys did the design work on this – including wind tunnel testing. In the LeMans race, the stock 1950 Cadillac finished 10th and LeMonstre finished 11th.
