Dave Hill and his CV8

Post by Kieron »

I?d like to thank Zac Zacaroli all who helped get Dave Hill reunited with a Jensen CV8 for the Rockstarscars project.

We had a false start before Christmas at short notice, and didn?t manage to get a CV8 together for the planned date, (not for want of many of the clubs officials and members trying ) and we interviewed the lovely Don Powell, Slades drummer down at Hayley Island, who remembered the CV8 fondly

We had more notice post-Christmas, and had made contact with Zac, who was Midlands based, which is convenient, as is Dave Hill..

We also interviewed another famous Jensen owner, and former drummer with Pop Will Eat Itself, The Wonderstuff etc , motoring writer, restoration company owner, and now TV Host of car SOS, Forum and JOC Member Fuzz Townshend!!! His 541 is making progress with lots of chassis reworking via Ron Clay.

The venue was very helpful also,

They have a great collection of cars made in Wolverhampton, including Sunbeam and Clyno cars, and are available for wedding and occasional hire, plus they also restore cars for sale.

Once Zac arrived in the CV8 , we moved the car in, next to my Mercedes SL ( Same colour as Noddy Holders back in the day as it goes! ) and the interview commenced,

The pics attached are a taster, and I will write a piece for the JOC mag shortly, he remembered the CV8 , its power and its thirst!

He was also glad to hear his car still existed.

More to come, and thanks again all that helped put it together!!

This could have been written by a CV8 owner.
