Hello, Jens,
I'm fine, thanks, not even a scratch, bruise or neck pain.
As I crossed a junction where all the lights were out, a Porsche travelling at very high speed clipped my front-end, spinning my car round about 90 degrees.
It glanced off my car, hit a barrier, then bounced back, airborne, landing partly on my car.
The occupants were trapped inside for a long time.
I was told they are OK.
I had stopped at the junction, looked left, saw only a few slow-moving cars in the distance, then moved forward and got hit.
I do not know how I missed seeing the other car.
According to a newspaper report, one of the drivers (not me) was given a blood test.
My breathalyser test showed Negative. (So no blood test.)
I'm going to contact the police today for an update on the crash investigation.

Here is a bad one from a friend of mine in the local Pantera club.

He lives in an area where there are a lot of "silverhairs", and they are often not as observant as they should be.

He was T-boned by an older lady. He is lucky to be alive. His car is a basket case, but MAY be brought to life, due to the increasing value of Panteras. It will be a very big project, though.

This is in fact the number 1 cause of all accidents on the roads in the UK (yes I know you are in Sweden), accounting as the main contributory factor in 42% of all accidents in 2016. Speeding by contrast is the main factor in 5%, impairment by Alcohol 4%, impairment by illicit or medicinal drugs 1% and using a mobile phone at less than 1%.

It also has to be noted that there are now more accidents at T junctions then ever has been, this is because of the increased size of the windscreen pillers.

I totally agree with you on this Colin. In my Mazda, there is a distinct blind spot on the passenger side when turning right. Turning left, no problem.
When turning right at the same junction in the Interceptor, blind spot is not there.
Having nearly t-boned a car in the Mazda when a car was suddenly in front when I moved off, I have now adopted a type of nodding donkey approach at such junctions.

Colin makes an excellent point indeed.
In 2016 approximately one third of all road fatalities, around 560, occured in accidents at a junction of some kind (Roundabouts, Crossroads, Private drives, T, Staggered etc) with T or staggered junctions accounting for 2/3rds (around 375) of all the fatalities at junctions of some kind.
These are exactly the places where you need an unimpeded view down the other directions of the roads. When you couple the two statistics together there has to be some causual relationship between the fact that so many accidents happen at such locations and a failure to observe something approaching being the highest contributory factor in road accidents.

Memories of the thick windscreen pillars on a Saab 9000 I had for about two weeks, one of the reasons I went back to a 900 (proper one not the GM thing).

The other thing that doesn't help is the councils not cutting the grass on verges at junctions, I had difficulty seeing to pull out in the C-V8 on the way back from Ludlow on Sunday evening. I know, it doesn't help me being a short-arse

Statistics are like a lamppost to a drunk, not for illumination but for support. And, remember 87.5327% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
