Ouch !!
Re: Ouch !!
That fire at Retro Rides at Shelsley Walsh could have been a lot worse. Apparently the Volvo caught fire soon after the poor driver parked it and walked away blissfully unaware of what was about happen. Someone had the presence of mind to use a Range Rover to tow the burning car away from the others in the car park...apparently they tried several fire extinguishers but made no difference - they could not get the bonnet open (should have smashed a window). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A07UbC1KdpA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Carry a good fire extinguisher....

What is left of a two month old Lamborghini Huracan as a result of a mindless and wicked arson attack. This was only one of several 'high end' cars to be destroyed.

Not as glamorous as previous pics but a sorry sight nonetheless. RIP Morris Oxford.

Is that what's known as a barn find?

Speaking of "Ouch !!" just imagine finding your car back in this condition after some heavy rain....

Re: Ouch !!
Yet more misery.
Allegedly the fault of 'red van man' in the distance.
Another classic written-off due to a sneeze or a text. Much sympathy from me as yesterday a BMW in front of me slowed up very sharply and uneccesarily (10 empty car spaces in front of her) The Hispano-Suiza licenced brake servo on my 1959 Bentley did its job (just) but the following white van had to decamp into the ditch on the opposite side of the road. Luckily no damage to anyone but at least the lady in front didn't have to interrupt her phone call so that's all right then.

Ouch! x2

The Rover was towing the V12 Phantom Rolls on the trailer and hit a tree.
(Ouch x3 as the Rolls wasn't insured)

Re: Ouch !!
What is the Phantom worth? I doubt it will be restored but I expect it will be rebuilt as a special/roadster. A similar Duesenberg was flipped in the US a few years ago, and despite the mechanic driving it being killed, it is now immaculately rebuilt.

Re: Ouch !!
I read about that accident with the Phantom III elsewhere and they said it was a write off. But being worth at least £100K and probably £150K I very much doubt that.

Re: Ouch !!
Correct Mike, the Phantom's an easy repair (not cheap or uncomplicated though!) as far as coach-built vehicles go.MikeWilliams wrote:I read about that accident with the Phantom III elsewhere and they said it was a write off. But being worth at least £100K and probably £150K I very much doubt that.

Re: Ouch !!
Except that if, as Barrie indicated, it is uninsured, that repair bill will have to come from someones pocket. That could be tricky.Keith wrote:Correct Mike, the Phantom's an easy repair (not cheap or uncomplicated though!) as far as coach-built vehicles go.MikeWilliams wrote:I read about that accident with the Phantom III elsewhere and they said it was a write off.
