Re: Ouch !!
One of just 337 production examples of the Toyota 2000GT was cruising down a Japanese road earlier this month when an ancient tree, 5 feet in thickness, toppled onto it. The young driver was luckily not badly hurt.
and, similar car, before:
Someone has already built a new body for one of these from alloy so it may well rise again, seeing as it has a million pound price tag.

Luckily only about £700 worth of damage.
Unfortunately they were 1960s £s.“Even in a time of elephantine vanity and greed, one never has to look far to see the campfires of gentle people." Garrison Keillor

And about 6 months gross pay for the average worker in 1967.

Just seen the above Andrew.
Sorry to hear of your injury and hope all is ok now.
This may best termed as an almost ouch

From the lorry driver's remarks after the near-miss he sounds like quite a nice fellow!

I recently came across this again.

Re: Ouch !!
Unfortunately this type of RTC is getting to be more common. I attended a number of similar ones when I was working. The annoying thing is they still allow these wannabe F1 prats loose in cars they cannot handle

RE: NBC Youtube coverage.
That must be the worst use of a "movie" camera ever. It might as well have been still photos until the final shot. Although in his favour, the camerman had a very steady hand!
