Some wealthy (especially inherited money) people are inept. However this car may have been driven by a salesman. A relatively slower pace of impact is indicated. Kenny38 8)

A driver treated themselves to a Ferrari - and then crashed it after driving less than two miles (3.2km), police said.
The luxury sports car sustained major damage in the crash in St Alkmund's Way, Derby, shortly before 11:00 BST.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted the driver, who had purchased the Ferrari this morning, was unhurt and no other vehicles were involved.
The car was moved off the road and the driver arranged their own recovery.

I wonder if insurance will write it off and eventually a cheap (?) Ferrari will appear probably in Australia. Years ago quite a few A/M's written off were "cut and shut" and bought by an outfit out of Melbourne usually the DB5/6. This was in the seventies so were quite cheap. Cars went on market as used but good. I don't think many A/M owners today know they probably have a previously written off and cut and shut A/M. i actually went to look at the garage where the cars were (what was left) and saw one on the hoist being welded. Mechanics got very excited and threatened to "do yous" if I didn't proceed out the door. Hasn't affected the prices. Probably because it was a very well kept secret and no one cared very much about much at all. Some may have ended back in UK. Looked at the UK seller on some of the halves and paperwork showed D. Brown as previous owner. Kenny38

It doesn't seem that badly damaged. The nose looks unaffected, as if it went UNDER something rather than into it, which would lessen the structural damage.
Still a major incident. Pretty good going considering "no other vehicles were involved" and it's a straight road.
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

At least £40k worth of parts even if the front subframe is untouched. Looking at the barrier it want under I would guess it is damaged as it is only 25mm square ali tube that holds the ends of the front bumper and wings. The ott part prices mean many repairable cars are written off.

I'd be prepared to bet that the new owner thought he was too good a driver to need traction control, switched it to "track mode" (or whatever they call it when all driver aids are off), floored the throttle on the straight and spun it into the armco.
