Renewing by Paypal.
Well I've had a good look through the JOC website but I can't work out how to renew my membership by Paypal. Is there anyone brighter than me out there?

Scroll down on the home page to the JOC Joining the club section and then click renew online.
Beneath the 'how did you hear about the club' box, click on the buy now button, that will take you to Paypal.

Re: Renewing by Paypal.
Thanks for drawing the Paypal option to my attention.
I've just renewed via this facility which is so much quicker than any of the other options.
As a matter of interest can anyone tell me the cost to the Club of using Paypal compared to using credit or debit cards?

There are varying rates of charge depending on the monthly sales.Barrie wrote:Thanks for drawing the Paypal option to my attention.

Up to £1500 = 3.4% + 20p
£1500 to £6000 = 2.9% + 20p
£6000 to £15000 = 2.4% + 20p
So I would expect the first one really as I can't see the club taking more than £1500
So a charge of £1.49 for a £38 renewal fee......and £1.59 on a new member fee.
I don't know what the credit card charges are but I wouldn't expect them to be quite as high.

Re: Renewing by Paypal.
The paypal renewals are higher in December, January and February so we go into the higher bands then.
I spent ages looking into alternatives this time last year, the then treasurer then decided to wait for the new Treasurer (Ian Roberts) .
Since then Barclays have been mucking us about so we have switched to the co-op, I need to speak to Ian about what the charges and facilities are and if they will work with the new membership system going live later this year.

Paypal makes it easier for us convicts as well. Quick question - I joined the JOC a few years back but let my membership lapse. Can I renew or do I need to go as a new member again?
