How cool is that, you have a jet fighter in your garden.

What is it a Mikoyan or a Yakulev, its not a Sukhoi, that I have deducted but I cant seem to find it any where in my books.

If thats the engine bay on your Interceptor, lucky you, it looks well tasty.

Gentleman,

I am novice here in the Jensen universe, so let me ask this from somebody, who is more familiar with the Jensen history and registry.

What do you think about the ID tag?
How it looks to you?

What means "Torino"?

Turin, home of Vignale, where the first fifty or so cars were built before full production moved to West Bromwich.

Well...

Previous owner, who owned this car for the 23 years, told me, that he received information from the Jensen Plant, thatcar was produced before than official date, but remains on the plant for the some reasons. So he was told from the plant (or what ever we today calling Jensen Plant, that this is Vignale body)

What for me, I see, that body tag, although looks original, creates some questions regarding its autencity.
There is word Torino on the body tag.
But what is the sure - I saw some italian words on the castings of the pot metal trim, one of the keys bears also word "Torino" by the documents and in reality too...

Can anybody enlight this mistery?

The Italian body fittings remained long after production was transferred to the UK, so keys had Torino stamped on them even though the rest of the car had never set wheel in Italy. The Mk1 rear lights were shared with an obscure Lancia!

Don't panic!

It is simply the 'brand' of key manufacturer for the doors. The doors had Italian 'Torino' keys while all the other keys are of British manufacture.

As I told, previous owner started restoration, and not only did all hard job, but also during two decades collected quite a lot of the hardly obtainable Jensen NOS and well preserved bits, memorablia, etc, which is all came with the cars.It is quite a long list, some smaller ones are shown here.'

Well, it has two bizarre headrests, but I dont understand, how it is mounted to the lazyback...
Previous two owners, who owned car for 30 years were real enthusiasts.
Also it have power windows made in Italia by Bertone (wondered, what italian car had it in 1967...)

Well, there will be my next question, can you find out, what does this abbreviatures means?
This is the option codes for the very first Interceptors, including my own.
Also, it does not had originally power windows, as the listed options are:

Hide trim
Power Assisted Steering
Badge Bar
Electric Aerial

Little bit more fine NOS stuff, which came with the car..Speedo came new from the Cropredy Bridge Garage in 1986, at the horrendous price of 20 GBP. Wiring harness and selectaride switch at the same time from Jensen Car Company.
There is a very lot of old receipts in the car file folder...

You may have to think again on the steering wheel if originality is what you prefer.
