Newbie says hallo.

Post by Denis »

Let me introduce myself.
My name is Denis, 37 years old classic car enthusiast from the Estonia. My relationship with British cars is still limited with my beautiful Rover P5B saloon, which spent most of its life in the vicinity of the Bookingham Palace, and once was owned by the well known pop-artist of the 60-ties. But it was enought to appreciate the beauty of the mix of british design and US drivetrain. So, Jensen is the logical next step.

Why I am here? Just because, it seems, that I am at the eve of buying one Interceptor, which will be definitely one very interesting project and definitely will be highlighted in this forum.

I think, at the beginning, I will be definitely more reader, than writer, thanks to many fellow enthusiasts, who did great job sharing their knowledges and experience here.

Best regards,

Denis

Hello Denis and welcome to the wonderful world of Jensen!

There is at least one more Jensen in Estonia....I sold my Jensen Healey to someone in Estonia a few years ago.

Yes..!! That is my 'old" Healey. It was a real pleasure to do business with Mart. He flew in from Estonia to Holland and drove all the way back. I remember fitting the hardtop and filling the boot and the space behind the seats with loads of new and used spare parts that I gave him in the sale. TD-VV-64 was the original Dutch registration, I can be seen in your photos changing the plates for export plates "3PGF35" that enabled Mart to drive the Jensen home. Two or three days later already he emailed that the car passed the Estonian tests and was registered 68 ZJD . In one of the photo's my GT is shown, that one went to Luxembourg but I never heard of it again. It is good to see that the Healey is still being used and looking quite presentable after all these years. I noticed that Mart still has the 4 point safety harness, rollbar and all rally equipment fitted.
I drove the JH in numerous rallies as shown in some photos in your album .
Thanks for sharing these and give my regards to Mart.

If I remember it right, your former JH passed through complete body restoration process, perhaps dont know - was it before or after photos were done.
You probably figure out it better.
When I will see Mart, definitely tell him your greetings, Han Kamp.
Mart has also another car, immaculate MB-190 W110, completely time warp, may be better suitable for use in our climate)

Congratulations!
If you look at the invoice from Jensen to Charles Follett, below the date at the top right hand side, you will see the reference: AJM/CP

I am AJM and Carol Powell was my secretary!

Have fun!
