Now just what have I been pushing for over the past couple of months? Shows that we can get good PR however we need expert outside assistance. But show does mention the crap out there keepning prices down. Anyone seen a dilepidated E Type/A/M on these shows? Do you ever see any on the market?( probably clubs sell them internally to avoid buyer over optomism of cheaper prices). Of course not. Proves we need a PR team. We do need to lift prices and it's good to see the restored M1 at 135K. Re the remark by a neo puritan about "we use our cars" or along those lines. Many condition 1 cars were on display recently at the JCCA National Rally and i can tell you these cars are not garage queens....far from it. Hardly any shite boxes/ideal project for sale now. I have been in JCCA for 33 years and attended most rallies. The quality of the Jensen's has soared over that time....we do have an award called Hard Luck and over past few years very few have been awarded. Interesting to see the number of 541's from none (showing) 33 years ago to ...well..quite a few now beautifully restored. If prices here and UK are improved and prices reflecting our passion are to be raised then only ridding the place of absolute rubbish (as opposed to "very neglected") by putting some action into the club by the committee. Seems to under the rug though, but I and hopefully others can only hope that Karan will bring a sense of urgency and purpose to his Chairmanship over the next 5 years. Am sure he will! Mean time have a great Xmas. My goat has died. Am very upset. Kenny38

Sorry to hear about the goat Kenny. More of a sheep man myself.

The flip side I guess is that rising prices might be at odds with the aim of recruiting younger members.

The yin to the yan...

Personally, for that money I'd be expecting a very good indeed FF.

And, though the car to which they're fixed might be excellent, I'd certainly not want those ghastly looking wire wheels.

But what I'd really like is the means to make my comments meaningful and not hypothetical murmurs :D

Actually, I was watching "Bangers and Cash", series 5 episode 3, last night and Mathewson's auction house featured a very scruffy E-type 2+2 auto.

It's not beyond saving, it's being sold for restoration.

I wonder why it has not sold privately! For resto.?? If worthwhile owner would have no trouble selling and not having to resort to ebay for such a prestige brand. Interesting to see how much.........Kenny38

And a full resto would be in US$ around another 300K. Is this even a popular model? Amazing "you wish" price. Will we ever get there?? Kenny38

And if we did, where would all my lovely Jensen owning friends be? Virtually all of them would have sold up and be replaced by multi-millionaires. Many of whom are I'm sure are lovely, but maybe not so devoted to driving the cars and enjoying them.
