Lingotto rooftop test track

Post by Chris_R »

The Lingotto rooftop test track has been transformed into a rooftop public garden space now open only to electric vehicles.

Nope, the picture I posted (there are others) is the area where we lined up the Jensens. That will forever remain a one-off event.

How sad. Italian design isn't what it used to be. Where's historic preservation when you need them? If they are going to convert the roof why only do 1/5th of it?... strange also that the roofs on the courtyard buildings are still gravel, if the environment was something they were trying to do something about. Safety was probably an issue though.

In a way it makes our visit even more historical and special, no one can beat that experience of 90 miles an hour on a roof. You might do it in an electric vehicle but it won't feel the same as in a V8 muscle car. Well done Shaun and Chris for making it happen when you did.

I think the name to apply is SPOILSPORTS. At least I can say we drove on the roof in 2016, marvellous!
