Mark Rivron's SP

Post by zacmarshall »

This is Mark Rivron's SP, MTU 700L. Mark is basically the club's SP Ambassador

Big moon rising :D

Mark is a long term Jensen enthusiast having bought his first Interceptor (DLR 77J) at the age of 21 (just after I sold it to a dealer at the age of 21).
Mark then had the ex Motor Show mark 2, CEA 1J and then sold that for another mark 2, VRL 563H. Mark bought MTU back in August 2013.

The man himself enjoying a cream tea on the Cornish trip he helped organise.

The car was a little tired when bought with the engine and gearbox both needing work, but the basis was there for a very good car.

I really wish I had a photo of the car when I used to see it parked up outside the Bristol Classic Car Show before Mark bought it, you could tell it was a farmer's car :-)

Mark has concentrated on the mechanical side of the car, referring to it as the ‘Patina Express’.
An engine and gearbox rebuild and re-instatement of a six pack mean that car is now full fat SP which Mark enjoys to the full.

When in Germany Mark proved that the car still has it.

The car was awarded the Chairman’s choice at this year’s International as the car that Chairman Paul Lewis would most like to go home in.

Great car, and sounds amazing.
Also Mark is a very knowledgeable Jensen enthusiast.
If you ever bump into him, make sure you talk Jensen with him, he will enlighten your day.

Having travelled nearly 1000 miles as a passenger and used the car for my wedding I can honestly

say what a car. Always driven enthusiastically by Mark and in all weathers.

Does exactly what a well sorted SP should do

Pity that dodgy bloke from up North has already had car of the month, he would have been perfect for Movember :D

Will have to see if I can find a picture of Dave Pearce on the stand ...

Blimey, my old banger? I thought only good cars got in this section. Many thanks for the kind words.
The old girl will be doing the run to the tip this weekend (I must fit a roof rack to carry more junk plus I can carry the tables for the car boot sale).

Well done Mark, great to see your car being enjoyed so well! ...makes me think I may have sold the wrong car, but you can't keep 'em all ;-))

A great and well used car Mark, it really is nice to see these cars driven, but you will have to stop those dodgy dealings with Northerners because it seems you never know whose watching :D
