C-V8 60th Anniversary
Further details of the C-V8 60th Anniversary event are now to be found in the Events section of the JOC website.
https://joc.org.uk/events/jensen-c-v8-6 ... -oct-2022/
A reminder of what's proposed.
Sunday 2nd October
The main event at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge. Can we outdo the 53 C-V8s that came to the 2012 ''50 for 50' C-V8 celebrations and gather 60 C-V8s for the 60th anniversary? All Jensens and their owners are welcome of course and will be able to join the display at Brooklands.
Saturday 1st October
Dinner at Brooklands in the Blue Bird room, a booking form is included in the events diary.
A visit to the Robert and Tanya Lewis car collection at Churt. We are working on other things to do and places to visit on Saturday and I have something in mind but need to confirm the details with the venue before going public. Note a visit to Studio 434 as previously mentioned must be ruled out as, unlike 10 years ago when we visited as part of the 50 for 50 event, it is not open on a Saturday, even for the JOC!
For those who would like to make a weekend of it we have reserved rooms at The Hilton at Cobham, 4 miles from Brooklands, for Friday and Saturday nights, again details are to be found in the events section of this website.

The cost in advance is £18.10 for a standard adult admission. There appears to be no facility for cancellation.
However, if you use
https://www.getyourguide.co.uk/weybridg ... ptout=true
instead, they offer: "Free cancellation - Cancel up to 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund" for the same price.

Re: C-V8 60th Anniversary
An update on the C-V8 Event
Nobody can buy a ticket for Brooklands yet as the Brooklands booking system has been stalled at the end of September for probably 3 months now. We have been talking to Brooklands about this and they seem to think this is usual, but do say tickets for October will be available shortly and by the end of this month at the latest.
Saturday am
I have booked a stand at the Transport Heritage Weekend at the Rural Life Living Museum at Churt, very close to the Robert and Tanya Lewis private car collection that we had already planned to visit. The Transport Heritage Weekend is a traditional transport show, classic cars and commercials, tractors and stationary engines, steam traction engines and buses, and the Rural Life Museum is interesting in its own right and includes a narrow gauge steam railway.
https://rural-life.org.uk/
Saturday pm
Now the visit to the Robert and Tanya Lewis car collection.
Saturday evening
Dinner as before at Brooklands
Sunday
The main event, all details as before. Our event will be listed on the Brooklands website soon (first they told us that club events weren't listed, now they say they can be so details were submitted today).
Accommodation
Details as before but if anyone wants to stay an extra night on Sunday and return home in daylight on Monday the hotel will extend the discounted room rate to allow this. But if you do want to avail yourself of this offer you must ring the hotel to do so.
On the flyer that was issued with the JOC magazine I asked that people tell me when they booked for Brooklands on Sunday, then we would know who is coming to our event. But as nobody can book yet very few people have told me they are coming, and that's a worry. So if you do intend to book when you are able to can you let me know now? Also note that this event is for all C-V8 owners, and other Jensen owners for that matter, If you read this but you aren't a JOC member, don't be put off - we want you there!

Re: C-V8 60th Anniversary
Thanks for keeping us updated, John.
As you already know, I have already booked an independent hotel for Friday and Saturday, so I'm definitely going. I will leave booking the meal until later, to avoid tempting fate.

Re: C-V8 60th Anniversary
The Brooklands booking system has now opened up for the rest of the year.
As Stephen had pointed out the standard entry price, without a voluntary donation, is £18.10, but for those over 65 (and who isn't these days?) it's £17.20. Compare the cost of day tickets to the NEC in November with the cost of tickets to Brooklands and Brooklands looks quite reasonable.
Please do all rush at once!
