Hi Colin

I trust you are well?

I love your confidence that we are returning to normal :D ! I am with you on that though it is an aspiration rather than certainty just now.

No the AGM will be on 28 May freeing IW attendees to participate in the visits/activities and socialising but also allow members not able to come to Nottingham to join the AGM.

Hi Colin,

The JOC AGM event has been on the diary events page for the past few months. It has not been a “zoom meeting” but a webinar meeting with electronic voting for the past two years and I recall the last one being pretty lively :)

More info will be made available as we get closer to the time.

A very good idea. International visitors are not really interested in the JOC AGM, JOC member or not. It was a bit of a waste of time to have it during the International weekend where socialising is so important.

Hi Raj,
But please what is the reason behind this ?
If a recall, it was asked as one of the questions at the 1st virtual AGM if members would like to use this format again as it allowed all who could not come to the international weekend and participate in the AGM to join virtually. The voting results was near 100% . Although we had a very small turnout at both AGM the last two years, we did manage to have a few of our overseas members join which was great (and afterwards wrote to us to say how happy they were to be able to participate). We considered to do it at the Int'l Wknd and hold it virtually but I believe Stuart has explained the other reason for this in his reply to you. It will allow us to enjoy the weekend to meet with old friends and hopefully form new ones rather than sit in a room for 2 hours that we could be use for driving or socialising rather than business. Being face to face for a meeting in the aftermath of COVID-19 has changed the way most meetings are held and just because we did something the same way for years does not mean it was always right.

The Club needs to keep moving forward, and moving in this direction is a step forward in my personal view. I welcome the introduction of this and really hope that more members not just the UK but EU, & ROW members will be able to participate. We can't always make the timing to fit everyone but we sure can try to engage with as many members as we can.

I hope the above is what you are seeking. If not I suggest as always you write to the Executive Committee for more details.

.....and on that note, don't forget to book your place at the international... Stuart & Gill has got us a cracking good deal https://joc.org.uk/events/international-weekend-2022/. I can't wait for the driving season to begin.... roll on March!

   My plan was to come with the FF, but after the engine rebuild by REJEN ( a company long gone out of business) the car use ONE litre engine oil on 60 miles - a bit too much. Luckily none of the two new companies that have my car in their advertising ( see club magazine) feel any responsibility for the faults they made in the past.
2000 miles and I’m facing an engine rebuild - after spending a fortune….

This is such sad news Joerg, I'm sorry to read this. Ring Andy at Appleyards see if he can help, after al he has help many committee members in the past, even getting an engine stitched for a well known ex-committee members CV8

I do it in Germany. Definitiv I will avoid any further contact or business with a company that is called River Bourne Classic, the owner is somewhat doubtful in his way doing business. He even didn't answer ma phone calls or email.
