Except that at this rate it looks like it will be only "2" in '22. Just you and me next year it seems...

Well...whichever one of us arrives first can order the drinks for both of us...

Where do you think we should hold our event?

Frankly it is a bit repetitive, driving out to some conference centre car park in the middle of nowhere or another old country house in a place that I didn't know existed; what do you think about a central London venue?

I can probably organise a nice spot sometime in June or July, somewhere central and quite glamorous.

Thoughts Jens?

That sounds excellent... I'd be up for that.

Edit: I forgot about Le Mans (June 30th to July 3rd)

Sadly, I suspect that a central London venue / destination will likely price out many of the C-V8 owners.
There's parking prices, hotel prices and congestion charges adding to the whole picture.
Perhaps HM will allow the use of Windsor Castle?

Brilliant!

But why not pushing that idea a bit futher: June or July would also be fine somewhere at the beach.

Monaco, Nice, Barcelona ... something like that.

We leave the C-V8s at home and enjoy the drinks in the sunset 8)

Yes, there will be a C-V8 60th.

I can't say where and when as I don't know myself but I have been discussing this with David Wright, my right hand man 10 years ago, and we have some ideas. But these things aren't easy to organise and other people's, positive, suggestions for a venue are welcome, you have all got my contact details.

The date will probably be July or August as June is usually the JOC International and September is the Healey 50th event.

I think this is a problem with lots of events / anniversaries (even I hesitate to say, the JOC International), they've been done before. But it's very hard to come up with a new idea of what to do. I tried the idea of an open day earlier this year at the Leicester Space Museum with Jensen specialists booked to give us a presentation, just 11 Jensens turned out on the day. I tried a day at Goodwood Motor Circuit with 15 reserved spaces, only 5 tried to book and for various reasons only 2 made it on the day.
How about 60 C-V8s display at Le Mans Classic?

Is there i wonder a heat map of CV8 member addresses in the owners club?

For example if it turns out that there are 490-something CV8 owning members (allow me to dream...) and 300 of them live within 20 miles of VENUE X, than VENUE X seems a reasonable location for a big turn out.

If the 60th anniversary for the C-V8 Is in another country other than Untied Kingdom then they will be shock waves of epic portion... the committee organising something abroad.. and not an individual.
Only working half a day now.

The C-V8 50th was a great success I believe, at a good venue, but perhaps we can improve on that. What we need is an accessible venue for members in Germany , Netherlands and other European countries who own C-V8s, a first class meal, some historic attractions to feast our eyes on at an Internationally known venue!

Last but not least, we need the craic of a large group of keen members, and a inspiring speaker.

Watch this space everyone! I'll be there

I’m not a CV8 owner but what about Brooklands Museum? It’s a great venue with a huge amount of history in both motorsport and aviation, loads of things to see. It has a good restaurant, Mercedes Benz world is next door and it pretty accessible from mainland Europe.

And, for the plebs, Tesco and Lidl inside the sacred banking. Brooklands is fairly handy for me.

Remember, last time the Anniversary was immensely popular with owners of other types of Jensen too - plenty of Interceptors and 541s. Healeys too?

Not the famous prewar racecourse Brooklands - Snetterton is the place to meet.

Still not too far from me, so I approve! Which car ferry port would continental owners use?
