The Russell Collection does not have a dedicated website but it is a classic car hire business, as is Studio 434, and the business has a website https://www.zachsgarage.co.uk Zac of Zac's Garage is Zac Russell (and sorry but you do have to register to view the website content but that only takes a moment).

And of course a number of early Jensens featured at Brooklands in its heyday. In November 1938 the S-Type Tourer chassis S41 CAC 41 (now owned by Studio 434, previously me) was tested flat out around the Brooklands circuit with the windscreen down by John Hathaway of Speed magazine. The previous month Alan Whiddington had lapped Brooklands in his modified Jensen Ford BYU 951 at over 100 mph. The following June the S-Type Saloon chassis S37 CJW 456, which still survives, would be pictured in Autocar attending the huge Ford Gymkhana at Brooklands probably with Jensen Sales Manager Major Weir at the wheel, just yards from where the CV8s will assemble.

And last but not least the H-Type Saloon H1 (which of course also still exists) achieved its top speed of 88 mph around Brooklands in The Motor. To check the company’s claim that ‘unlimited driving would have no harmful results’ the tester floored the accelerator for 36 miles around the circuit ‘without any sign of mechanical distress’.

David, thank you, I didn't know, or i had forgotten there was a Jensen connection with Brooklands, except that in the present day Brooklands is one of the centers for the apprentice scheme that the JOC has just become a sponsor of.
Joerg, thanks go to David and Chris Wright for suggesting Brooklands as a venue.

Re: CV8 60th Anniversary 2022 Event
Interestingly an exact replica of the Fiat Balilla pictured above, based on Jack Tuson’s drawings, came up at Historics the other week.
The final important Jensen connections to Brooklands were the two spectacular Jensen-bodied MGs in which Ron Horton won the 500-mile BDRC race in Sept 1932 and the class lap record of 120.59 mph the following year. The first particularly was arguably some of the most inspired bodywork ever crafted by Jensen.

Re: CV8 60th Anniversary 2022 Event
Thanks massively to John Staddon (and David Wright, I believe) for such a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Everything was well planned and there was an excellent turnout, with lots of supporting Interceptors, masses of Healey's/GTs and four beautiful 541s. Ian Northeast gave a great speech over dinner, and actually briefly ran his Bonneville C-V8 up to the famous banking for photos.

Quite a few expired tax discs. Not mentioning any names I really enjoyed the Sunday. Well worth popping over for.

What a great looking event and I have to say, this one really catches my eye - the colour, the wheels & the shiny paintwork make for a stunning combination!

That's presumably the shots of the banking after he cleared all the undesirables out of the way.
