Bicester Drive In Weekend

Post by adamfschr »

Good morning all,

I hope you enjoyed the hot weather over the weekend.
In light of many events being cancelled, one has emerged that will be Covid-19 compliant.

This is The Classic Car Drive In Weekend held at Bicester Heritage over 17th – 20th September.
We are planning on taking part over the weekend (18th – 20th)
(The JOC is not endorsing this, so it’s entirely up to you as to whether you’d like to come out)

In order to gain free entry with a designated club parking area, we would require 10 – 20 cars.
If we have up to 9 cars, the entry would cost £20 (including 20% club discount)
Any joining after the 20th would do the same.

It is fine to just come along for the day, but if you’d like to stay overnight accommodation may be available in the form of camping, either in a tent or motorhome.
Prices TBC depending on demand.

So, is anyone interested in coming along to this?
(The first 20 will be registered on a first come first served basis)

I should like to attend on the Saturday. Hope it's not pouring with rain - might detract a bit from the movies!

Adam,

Thanks for posting this, I saw it advertised last week, it looks really good. Great idea for your first event, well done.

Matt and I will come along on the Saturday with a Jensen.

Thank you to all who have shown interest. There are still plently of potential spaces to be hand, espeically considering up to 20 will gain free entry as per my original post.
The film list has also been released http://www.theclassiccarshowuk.com/schedule.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Do we have any more takers?

I have been in contact with the event organisers who confirmed we can have a stand to exhibit with our current interest, but with increased capacity of 25 cars.
Although general admission tickets are on sale now, they advised not to buy them and go ahead with the exhibitor passes which will be explained with further information to follow.

For anyone who has purchased one, the organisers will look into a suitable means forward again with more information to follow.

The organisers have been in touch, advising that we need to book an evening movie as they are not included with the exhibitor ticket.
Our exhibitor ticket will be given out upon arrival on the Saturday (I will ask them what time this is).

They will be requiring a final head count in a couple of weeks so anyone else wishing to join needs to have replied to this by then.

Thanks,
Adam

Thanks Adam for sorting this out... We just booked Rush for 4pm on Saturday... Can't bring myself to watch Smokey and the Bandit, was killing myself with laughter just on the trailer alone... :lol:

Will you need to know the car details entry tickets?

Good evening all,
I hope you are having a pleasant weekend.

I have had news from the organisers and there is some minor legwork for us to do.
We are all required to fill out this covid declaration form, so if you could do so by 7th September it would be much appreciated http://www.brandeventsmanual.com/ccdiw- ... ation-form" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We need to arrive between 0800-0830.
The address is:
Bicester Heritage
Buckingham Road
Bicester
Oxfordshire
OX26 5HA

They don't need any car details as they will send me the access passes which I'll distribute prior to the event, I'll then collect them when we're all present on the day.
If you could send me an email to areas@joc.org.uk, I can then reply back with your pass.
Please also bring hi-vis jackets as they are required during the build up and break down of the show.

For anyone wondering what safety measures are being planned, please see this link http://www.brandeventsmanual.com/ccdiw-c19-guidance" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks,
Adam
