Great Shaun,
When all goes as planned (corona restrictions, recovery of my neck hernia surgery and a safe driving to London) we will meet and have a beer!!

Oh good, a JOC meeting!
But to be serious, there have been 6,000 deaths from Coronavirus in The Netherlands, but 46,000 deaths in the UK and the UK government still advises against all but essential travel on public transport, and as the event is in central London, most people would have to catch a train to London and a tube within London to get there (Shaun will have to, he is being very brave, I can travel on a local train for only 4 stops and then walk to the show). Also it is an expensive show at £40 a ticket, £25 with a discount code if you have one, and the number of tickets sold has been limited to prevent crowding at the event. It is amazing that the organisers are still going ahead with the show at all.

Nice idea to go as I have the time but a bit beyond my current budget with train and tickets - €200, so there in spirit and hope you all have a great time

The car is ready to go.
We will drive to the ferry (Hoek van Holland - Harwich).
Arrival on sunday morning and then to the hotel in London.
I just had surgery and am not allowed to drive: my son will drive. That will be an experience for him (and me )vintage car, RHD, driving on the left side of the road and no mirrors outside . (And he has to wash/clean the car before the concours).
But we have the time and are having a special father/son q-time !! It will be fun!!
Cheers
Anton

Re: London concours 19 - 20 august
Anton didn't make it to the London Concours as the quarantine restrictions imposed by the UK on the Saturday before the show would have required him to isolate for 14 days after arriving in England, that put a bit of a damper on his plans. And talking of a damper, it rained solidly all day on Wednesday until 6 pm so I didn't go to the show either and nor did Shaun Winfield, annoyingly the weather was fine on the Thursday, as it was on the Tuesday before the show, but Wednesday was a wash out in every sense.
