The car at the meet is a prototype:
"The company was bought in 1963 by John Rex Glyn Bekaert, Jaguar racing driver and friend of Lofty England (Jaguar). The company was renamed Tornado Cars (1963) Ltd. and the first project was the build of the Talisman V8. This car was based on the shortened and strengthened chassis of a Daimler SP250. Engine, gearbox and even suspension were reused from the Daimler and the Talisman body put on top. The car was presented to Jaguar Ltd. when finished and even taken into consideration by them, codenamed "Jaguar Intercity Car". Handling and performance were found to be brilliant and just two weeks after completion the car had won the Rallye de la Route in France when Pat Moss only made it to 6th place."

The de Tomaso Mangusta is having a Ford V8 (mine one a 4,9litre with Edelbrock Carb) and a ZF gear box, originally around 320hp (mine 400+), the AC Cobra (Shelby) you'll find with a 286 or a 427 (mostly Holley) - I sold my one some years ago with around 800hp (undriveable)
Would be nice to attend, but it's too far away for me at the moment and too much to do in the garage, we're also preparing our participation at the Brussels heritage car show in autumn (if it takes place).
Have fun
Wolfgang

Thanks a lot Felix, never realized Dieter in the back, should I use photoshop and wipe Dieter out - replacing him by Beatrice Egli?
Promised - latest by next year we will meet, I love Switzerland and the hills, but Covid-19 is disturbing all our plans for this year. Hope I'm able to participate on the Dutch weekend inaugurated by Kees...
hope our fair in Brussels will take place...
Good luck with your event, would really love to participate
Have fun
Wolfgang

Yes, strange year, to put it mildly. We decided maybe in June to go ahead with the meet, and we were lucky that everything worked out- and it was also fortunate for us that most everything else was cancelled. Usually there is so much going on every weekend in the oldtimer scene, that most people are already booked for one event or the other. Say hi to the Dutch for us! And see you in le Mans next year?

Hope it works out with Le Mans next year, I'm also not quite sure if our sponsors all staying aboard. Most club events here in Belgium are cancelled due to restrictions by the authorities (some examples: beginning from next week we're allowed again to shop with 2 persons and 1 shopping trolley, we have to wear mouth masks all time outside and we're restricted to a bubble of max 5 persons in contact less than 1,5m) So this will not work for bigger racing events. If one team member is tested positive the whole team is blocked for 14 days and so on. I am not sure that the virus will be under control next year...
At the moment we're facing the next wave.
Please post some nice photos of your hybrid meet, will be curious to see some nice cars
Have fun, stay healthy
Wolfgang

unfortunately it doesn't look like that - I'm in contact with some scientists of the RKI (heritage car fans like us). At the moment they're stating that they even have not 'understood' the virus, estimation is by now that the pandemie will be ended in around less than 2 years...
A second lockdown will be a disaster for our whole economy, the European commission pumped around 1,8 billion € (european billions, in US it will be evaluated to 1,800 billion €) in the market.
A second time this will be not possible, or we're facing an inflation like in 1929, having then an employment rate of 40%+
we're now trying to survive (without infection and also financially) the most critical period I faced in my whole lifetime - let's see what the future brings, but I'm not really optimistic.
But quite sure we'll meet latest next year personally - and if so, with mouth masks.
Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your nice Jensen
Wolfgang

An illustration by Walter Molino, done in 1962- a vision of life in 2022. It's about congestion but with Corona it has a different connotation.
