My C-V8 is up and running, knock on wood, and if for some reason it shouldn‘t be then you will encounter a very unhappy, bad tempered, sulking me. Thank you Joerg for the article, have not had a chance to read it...

I miss cars like the Opel Diplomat V8 (with 327 GM Corvette engine). Shouldn't they be on the list of possible entrants too?

How can we make the whole thing more popular?

How many cars do you expect?

Oh so many questions ...

Is the Diplomat the basis of the Bitter? More than happy to include the Opel, and any other models we have missed (we just realized that TVR is inexplicably missing on the flyer, I don't know how we lost them because they were there).

Michi (aka Mike) is in touch with the Swiss clubs and the individual owners who have contacted us, and he is in touch with Zwischengas about getting us in their agenda and having some ads placed. I've today begun posting the event on Facebook. We've begun thinking about press coverage of the event, but we don't really have a concept yet.

We are also counting on our members, some of who also have Facel Vegas, Isos, Bitters, Cobras, Tigers etc to reach out to those communities.

Do you have any ideas on what to do additionally Jens? As I mentioned to Shaun, we see this as a first event which could be held on a regular basis- possibly the next one hosted in Germany, in France, Italy, the UK or where ever.

As to the number of cars- we have no idea at the moment. It could be any where from 30 to 50/60, or more. We're not limited by the space available there- the more the better.

PS I chatted with an owner of a De Tomaso Longchamp today who was also at a meet I attended, he promised that he'd come.

I see that every expense was spared on Monteverdi's rocker-cover branding.

That is another very hilarious, pithy response.

THis board is one of the funniest on the internet, and the Germans are leading the charge!

Not forgetting the Kapitän and Admiral.

If you turned up with a Lister-Chevrolet, Momo Mirage or Marcos TSO I couldn't imagine the organiser turning you away!

A 50s or 60s US raced Ferrari or E-Type with a V8 would also be very cool to have there:

The concept of ditching Ferrari’s glorious V12 for V8 iron may be hard to digest in today’s world, when ‘matching numbers’ authenticity is all-important. Back in the 1950s and ’60s, hot-rod culture was second nature to kids in America, when virtual wrecks could be ‘chopped’ and tuned to become the fastest things on the road. The most straightforward way of achieving that was by transplanting a bigger-capacity engine from an American car. When your Ferrari engine went terminal, or couldn’t easily be fixed, the pragmatic move was to whip out the V12 and install a Chevrolet or Ford unit. Hey presto, your gorgeous Italian stallion was up and running again – at a stroke, going from 3.0 litres to 5.7 litres, with 100 extra horsepower to boot. The Chevy’s advantage was its compact – ‘small block’ – size and short stroke, which reduced piston speed at high revs. It was reliable, too.

To set things straight, my dear Rocky, here are the differences:

Felix is Swiss, I am German.

Felix is funny, I am German.
