As said, I don't want to compete with some other, already planned events. 2021 seems to be pretty much booked with the Return to Turin trip in June and the Dutch International in September. It seems Per has planned the Tour of Norway for 2020 (July?), but 2020 has never been my intention as there is not enough time for preparations.

So it looks like 2022 is the option. Off-season months like May/June or September.

So far we've got 7 positive comments. I really wonder if we manage to get 10. If there are 10 takers, I'm gonna shave my head bald, grow a beard and announce the dates.

All, Brexit seems to have made UK contingent put their plans on hold? So far seven people expressing serious interest. (The title "Norway 2019" may have had something to do with it, but still.......)

Experience has taught me that from those showing serious interest somewhere between 50% and 30% actually make the trip (or do) that is planned. That brings the number down to a conservative two or three people. Further, the UK contingent tends to outnumber the rest by a comfortable margin, this time they are a minority. So pushing the trip out to 2021 or 22 is the way to go. However, looking at the other initiatives I believe we should try to stick to one long trip each year.

Speaking for myself I could be interested in a truly extended trip: Norway with starting point Oslo, Atlantic highway (some spectacular bridges to cross) around the coast ending in Bergen. Alternative route for those who haven't done it before going over the mountains. From Bergen the "Hurtigrute" (https://www.hurtigruten.co.uk/destinati ... es-bergen/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) as far up as you want to. Then across to Finland and down through Finland/Estonia etc. into Poland.

It would be up the individual travelers which route to Norway and ditto home upon leaving Poland.

The trip will not be cheap and even cutting across from Tromsoe into Finland the Norwegian part alone would be some eight days. Northern Finland is mostly unpopulated woodland and lakes so a couple of long days driving would see you in southern Finland.

What do you think? Interesting idea or too much in one go? Or those who want to could do the round trip and meet up with others going directly to Poland for a European meeting?

Szymon
Make it happen in 2022. I’ll be there, not sure about the other Chuckle Brother though.

Alex, it's going to be 2022. Got it discussed with the Chairman over some pints and papadoms last weekend.

Sorry for my delayed response, Colin.
According to the Chairman there are already some international events planned for 2021. And it could be that due to some personal plans/commitments, I will not be able to undertake this project in 2021. But there's still a lot of time to think, analyse and decide. No worries, I will keep you updated.
