Oh dear, no hotels/restaurants before the 1st of July, so says Boris.
So I presume no International as planned?

As the hotel is NOT allowed to open they will NOT be able to fulfill their contract.

I would presume the club are entitled to a full refund or to rebook on another date.

Fingers crossed.

The committee are on the case. We had a meeting last night to discuss this. There should be a formal announcement later today.

The relevant part of the announcement in the newsletter:

With great regret the committee has had to cancel this year’s International Weekend.

Members will appreciate that as the restrictions on hotels, bars and restaurants have now been extended to include June, our annual gathering is not possible.

The current restrictions on car ferries also mean it will be difficult for our friends from mainland Europe to travel to the UK and would therefore be unable to join us with their cars.

The committee is looking at alternative arrangements for the AGM which is usually held to coincide with the International. The committee aim to make an announcement about the next date later in the year.

Thanks to all who had booked for the event, we are making arrangements to return deposits paid.

We do intend to hold the International Weekend again in 2021, which will be the Club’s 50th Anniversary, and we look forward to seeing you all then.
