John and Caroline Donegan have done a fantastic job of organising the JOC presence at each Classic Le Mans since it started back in 2002.

They are unable to organise the club visit for next year so Shaun Winfield and myself will take over.

If you interested in attending please email me at zac@383web.uk
DO NOT USE the it@joc.org.uk email as I have resigned from the committee.

What we normally do is travel over from Portsmouth on the Thursday morning, stay over in Alencon and then drive to the circuit on the Friday morning. We camp Friday and Saturday night and then drive back to Caen on Sunday, stay over there and then get the Monday morning Ferry.

Shaun and I want to extend the trip by a few days to take in the Normandy landing sites, we would probably go over the Saturday before but this is still to be decided.

Some people have expressed an interest in doing Normandy but not LeMans.

Details of the trip are in the events diary here

https://www.joc.org.uk/events/le-mans-classic

We have some people that are doing their own thing instead of Le Mans and then meeting us afterwards, so if you want to do this it isn't a problem.

Hi Zac

A couple of us from Switzerland would like to join you. Do we organize our own trip/admissions or can you arrange for us a reduced package?

Felix

Hi Zac

Excellent, thank you. When is the deadline for those wanting to participate? If you‘d give me the approximate costs we can contact our members. My mail is office@jcc.ch

Emailed earlier (5 minutes ago :-) )

Best to book asap, Dunlop stand has sold out so we are in Panorama stand, not sure how many seats are left there.

If any other European Jensen owners want to join us you would be more than welcome.

Also if any Jensen owners from further a field fancied flying to the UK and riding shot gun in a C-V8 I am now looking for a passenger

Dito from Zurich. But I always warn people that the C-V8 is smelly and loud, according to my wife

Me too. We have people from France, Switzerland and the UK (plus an American, although I think of Raj as an honorary English lady :-) ), looking forward to a beer or two, and watching the 1920s cars go round the Dunlop curves.

My wife was a bit peeved about me going, specifically me willing to sleep in a tent- something she‘s only got me to do once, under great protest and with much complaining. All three of us coming from Switzerland aren‘t the great outdoorsmen, so we‘ll have to find a tent to borrow. One thing that worries me is the morning coffee.

I like the story of the different branches of the military being asked the question:

"What would you do if you woke up and found a scorpion in your tent?

The Army soldier said, "I'd step on it."
The SAS commando said, "I would crush it then eat it."
The Air Force officer said, "I would call room service, tell them to take it away, then ask why there is a tent in my hotel room."

I'm driving with some Uk residents and people from Holland in a convoy of Jaguar C and D types .
As my C type is not finished yet , I will drive the interceptor which will act as a back up car to carry some spares LOL
We're staying in an accomodation on the premises of a chateau some 35 km's south of Le Mans . Will make an interesting drive upto Le Mans in the mornings

Hope to meet you all there and praying for some good weather !

Harald

Any thoughts or news whether the event will be taking place? Here apparently many large events for this year are being cancelled.
