The Great Race Riverside CA to Tacoma WA

The Great Race is based on an original New York to Paris Rally and made famous by the Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon movie - The Great Race is an annual 2,200 mile time and distance Rally across the USA and last year into Canada. 125 classic vehicles dating from 1909 to our 1973 Jensen interceptor Mk III . This years Race commences on Saturday morning 22nd June in downtown Riverside California at 11am. We have been here in Riverside since Sunday flying in from the UK. Now trying to resolve last minute issues of jammed rear calipers, electrical and master cylinder. Over the 8 day race there are lunch time parades and evening Parc fermé.

As the only Brits in the Great Race and driving the only Jensen - it would be good to meet people along the route.

We made - Arrived Tacoma and crossed the Finish line Sunday 30th June and now back in the UK. The finish was not without issues... Windows jammed when hot, brake cable snapped on last day - we returned to start hotel using a bush fix of 5 zip ties linking the broken brake wire. Just in time we resumed and crossed the finishing line. From below sea level heat to snow at creater lake the 2,300 mile rally was a blast. Good to see so many Jensen guys on the route.
