Yes you’re right John, things have moved on with restorations and nut and bolt rebuilds. Owners need peace of mind and reliability and with upgrades coming onto the market it’s the only way forward. The SP is the perfect example of what can be achieved by using brake upgrades, Aluminum radiator, upgraded fans and aluminium Manifold - these are what stop the cars doing what they do best - overheating etc ! We’ve spent the last 2 yrs bringing the SP back to life by carrying out the above and doing a different take on the car to try to bring the younger generation in to appreciate what can be done with these cars. It certainly worked judging by the attention the car received at the NEC. I know it’s not easy but the Jensen organisers who put on these stands at the shows do need to think out of the box if we are going to keep the interest in our cars, they must dig deep and make a few phone calls and you will be surprised how many cars will come to life when offered the opportunity. It was the same when myself and Dave Pearce took over the North West region. The numbers were down to 3 people turning up at the monthly meet, we turned things around in three to four months by contacting Jensen owners and invited them to a barbecue where the turnout was around 40 and it was great to meet up with different people and their cars.

So is it in this excell gig then paul ???????????

We will be showing Paul's car at Excel.

Also, for the record, and there have been a couple of comments made about this, we have only shown one car twice at Excel in the three years we have done the show

Also the organisers agree, again because we went through this hoop last year, that single discounted tickets will be available so if you don't want to book two tickets using the current discount code be patient as the single ticket option will be added.

Latest news from the show is that Edd China will be curating a display of aero engines, this show does try to be different from the NEC show and this is an example of that.

8 weeks to go!

It is now possible to book single tickets, just quote JENSEN as the discount code for as many tickets as you want, all at £17.50 each.

Thanks to Eddie Harragan (Eddie runs an exhibition stand build company) we will have a proper stand at the LCCS this year, 3 metre high backdrop, lights, illuminated logo, lots of graphics, and even a couple of illuminated showcases for models and Jensen emphemera, all very professional and I hope we will be the envy of other clubs. And of course there will be an FF on the Grand Avenue.

I hope lots of people will come and see us (but we have only sold 9 tickets so far, says the organiser lady who beats us up every week about ticket sales - it's not too early to book :D ).

Hello John
Me and the bearded wonder (Grant) are definitely going so that makes 11 tickets sold

You can tell the lady you now have increased your sales by over 20%
Sounds much better than 2 more

Really looking forward to it especially seeing the 2SPs

I'm pleased to say that David Wright has agreed to loan us his Jensen model collection just for the show (as featured in the mag!), and himself for a day, 30 plus models, some you won't have seen before, and a chance to buy David's book on collecting model cars.

I sneaked in to ExCel early today to see how Eddie was getting on with our stand. Very well is the answer as you can see from the snap, just need some cars now (the two blokes in the hi-viz vests are nothing to do with us so don't know why they decided to pose like that).

How much is 'Babs' worth and yet there she was all on her own and completely unattended (notice how empty and unfinished the show is, but by 4 pm tomorrow it will all be complete).

The organiser lady has stopped beating me up so we must have sold a few tickets so if you're coming - see you later in the week!

Looks a high quality stand display John (no surprise as Eddie is in the trade). Seating arrangement much better than the crappy plastic patio set we've used previously.

Wishing all exhibitors on the stand a weekend to remember.

Am really happy to be able to help John and the club out.

Looking forward to seeing some images of the stand with some cars on it.

I took the liberty of putting some graphics up in the top corners to promote the clubs social media presence.

I “tweet” on behalf of the clubs twitter page, so am quite interested in seeing results from it.

Yesterday I posted a tweet to say the club was at the show building up. A normal month would see us gain around 10 new followers. Yesterday in one day we gained 5 new followers. Maybe a coincidence, or did people see the signs? Hopefully this weekend will bring lots more interest to the club on the social media side.

The results of the tweet activity can be seen below. This is a good result for the club.

Any way I wish the club a very successful show, and hopefully a lot of positive praise for the club and cars.
