I know I'm a bit behind the times not owning a sat nav but an actual map and tulip is preferable!

Hi Helen,

I will do what I can with a sectional map, but a tulip is going to be a nightmare with the Saturday, but will see what I can do...that's is why I was going to have the routes laid out with google maps, so that you can get the directions visually and verbally off your phone...assuming that GPS is working in the mountains :D

Please could all those who have booked on the weekend away, please contact me by PM with your email address as I would like to send some things to you.

We will be traveling up to the hotel on the 08th March to do a recce, more to do with the routes which are going to be epic in some ways and interesting in others and so the full options will be made to you before the weekend so that you can pick and choose what you wish to do.

For those that have not booked, time is running out on the hotel allocation and so if you are planning for May, please book as soon as possible.

Regards

Well I can tell you the hotel was great that we are using, though Llandridod Wells is a little one horse town where the horse has gone on holiday....no matter it is purely a base but the hotel does have a nice swimming pool and spa facilities so I am told by the ladies.

I can tell you that having spent Saturday and Sunday driving routes that were a culmination of over four route suggestions etc, Jon Pym and I and latterly the ladies - Jackie and Lindsey absolutely suffered the multiple routes to be able to refine the tour to two outstanding routes for Saturday and Sunday.

As a area representative I am told that Jensen owners want to drive and frequently committee members also orate this at shows and in the club magazine and so boy have you got some spectacular driving to do, which will rival anything you may have seen in Scotland or Norway,. This is a mix of A, B and the odd unmarked road, but they are all wonderfully curvy and undulating across the welsh mountains and coast line.

On Saturday our midway point is Port Meirion, where we have special entrance and will be taken down into the village in the cars as an added benefit for any photos you may wish to take. The location has lots of places to eat from snacks to full meals but judging by the amount of food you get at the hotel, I don't think that there will be many that want a full meal!

Saturday mileage (including optional EVO Triangle) 240 miles

On Sunday our midday stop is in the harbour area of Aberaron where there are a variety of options, but you will be back at the hotel for about 1430 for those that are then carrying on home.

Sunday mileage 129 miles

The original plan of overlaying the whole routes onto Google Maps and sending them to all attending is not possible due to the large number of way points that google does, so Jon and I have consolidated and simplified the routes with driving instructions as necessary and not every twist and turn :D :D If your on a road, you stay on it until the instructions say so.

We didn't have much time for pictures on the way but will post some that we got over the two day recce, in the meantime, if anyone is planning, thinking of coming then please get in quick with the hotel as space is going and I will not be able to hold off the release of the allocation which is coming up soon.

An email will be sent to all those that have booked with more details and the optional Port Meirion entrance fee arrangements at the end of this week.

All I can say is beware of loose sheep, speed cameras and MAMILS !!

Would love to have joined you all on this trip as Portmeirion is somewhere I've always wanted to go as I'm a Prisoner fan, but alas we will be in Canada. Maybe next time

I have certainly chosen a route on Saturday and parts of Sunday that can rival parts of Canada and definitely Scotland :D

You can stay at Port Meirion if you fancy a weekend there some other time.

Have a great time in Canada.

Good to see some more members have booked from near and far :D

So if you fancy joining some Jensen friends, the hotel is still taking bookings, but no rooms are held under allocation - just what is available at the time of booking.

Clive & Lindsey Bishop
John & Jackie Pym
Helen Newby
Clive Messenger and family
Brendan & Sheree Murtagh
Karan & Raj Mangroo
Jayne Bell
Peter & Elizabeth Fensome
Andy & Kim Medland
Joerg Huesken
Reg & Sandra Barton and daughter

Next challenge - weather - not too sunny to cause a epidemic of cyclists but not too wet and cold for us not to enjoy the roads I have planned :D
