initially I thought the collective noun should be a Jeroboam of Jensens but an Imperial [at 6 L ] would be nearer the mark/capacity

4.5 L Jeroboam: Equivalent to six standard 750 ml bottles. (In sparkling wines a Jeroboam is 3 liters)

4.5 L Rehoboam: A sparkling wine bottle with six standard 750 ml bottles.

6.0 L Imperial: (aka Methuselah) Equivalent to eight standard 750 ml bottles or two Double Magnums.

.. What a lovely time we had, brilliant weekend and so great to catch up with everyone and meet new faces, a little tap on the shoulder from the back on the wrong side and watch a cricked neck!!..aka NeckBack.. Sad for Martin's Drink problem

We roared down there 3.5hours in the Ole Jenny and 4 hours coming back non-stop as we were further away when we parted company with the crew, it was a long jaunt but an Ole Interceptor for sure was and is a Grand Tourer, even 40 years on!! effortless and great fun... thank you so much again for all your input with this JohnBoy.. Me& Lara of course

As Grant said an excellent tour up to the high quality John has set on previous tours.
Even the weather could not dampen our spirits and it was a joy to see so many Jensens being used for what they were meant to do, we visited some great places taking in the beautiful Devon scenery along some amazing roads.

You couldn't have hoped for a better bunch of like minded owners to spend the weekend with, catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.

A huge thanks to John, this must take a lot of organising and I think I can speak for everyone attending that the whole weekend was a resounding success.

Great time was had - we second all of the above.

Many thanks John for all of your hard work - you played it down - but it takes some serious hours to set up such a good weekend.

Bring on 2021

Firstly , Thank you for all your kind words.

I agree it is hard work putting these tours together , but when you wake up and see 25 cars lined up in the car park
and all the owners chatting away like long lost friends you know it's all been worthwhile.

I will be writing an article for the magazine in due course but here's a brief summary.

Friday 27th Sept.
Everyone arrived at the hotel without any real hitches except the usual heavy traffic on the M5.
By 7pm the bar was full of Jenensites and by 8pm we were all seated for our set 2 course meal.
The hotel had given us 4 large round tables which makes conversation and general chit chat a lot
easier than long tables.

Great meal , great company and I believe a few members were very late to bed.

Saturday 28th Sept
After a hearty breakfast everyone was fired up and ready for the off bang on time.
Our first port of call was Haytor Rocks, a brisk 10 minute walk to the top in dry conditions soon
turned to drizzle on the way down. Great views across South Devon taking in many other Tors as well
as the coastline.
Our second port of call was Widecombe in the Moor were it was dry and we enjoyed a coffee and stroll
around this picturesque village.
Lunch was a pre-booked buffet at the iconic Two Bridges Hotel where we had use of the Fountain function
room.
The afternoon consisted of visits to Princetown , Dartmoor Prision museum and Dartmeet before the rain
set in and we all scampered back to the dryand warm Dartmoor Lodge , Ashburton

Another lovely 2 course meal and plenty of drinks followed with some members getting to bed well
after 2am ( Zac & Martin K)

Sunday 29th Sept
We all awoke after what can be described as heavy rain throughout most of the night to discover just how
many cars do actually leak. The answer is most of them.
Luckily the forecast was better for our 45min drive down to Kingswear/Dartmouth.
On arrival we had reserved parking at an exclusive marina adjacent to the passenger ferry to take us
across to Dartmouth.
After the short crossing our next port of call was a ride on the only Coal powered Paddle Steamer still in
use in the UK. Not quiet sure of our carbon footprint but around 1/2 ton of coal was used on the hour long
cruise up the River Dart.
After some time to look around the sights of Dartmouth we all meet up at the George & Dragon for a traditional
Devon Cream Tea. I did try real hard to persaude everyone that it is 'cream first' in Devon but to no avail.
Everyone then departed back across the passenger ferry and onwards and home.

After arriving home and splumping onto the sofa I can look back with the satisfaction that everyone enjoyed
themselves whatever the weather and made some really good friends along the way. This has a number of great
cars and we visited some great locations but really its all about the people..

It was nice to see Pauls SP being used properly this weekend, he seems to have put a couple of thousand miles on it now and got it dirty so its not a trailer queen.
I got to follow it on Sundays drive and got a pic with my car as this was the first time they have been out together.

I didn't get to go out in it Dunc No .. I know Paul would have taken me in it as he was so friendly to me and chatted to me alot, but it really wasn't the weather for it, we had a smashing time but it was belting down on and off, I didn't want him to show me how it went with such wet roads etc and then end in.. he's a really nice chap though is Ole Paul and I'm may stalk him out and steal his car, drive it like I stole it, then take it back when I'm finished so that it can't be classed as theft!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, I had the advantage of arriving early and leaving late due to a family flat in Brixham. The tour was superbly organised by Pymie, originaly at Churston Manor which was fully booked when I and Alan Jones enquired, so I came up with staying at the flat, and joining in. When the venue moved, there were more rooms available, but as it was so popular, we decided to stay at the flat, which would allow more Jensenites to attend. As you all know we travelled back and forth from Brixham to Ashburton on Friday and Saturday, the trip back at 11:30 on Saturday night for me was scary. Country roads, a foot deep water in places I did get back to Brixham, the old girl doing me proud. The next day, apparently there was at least 1 modern car that didn't make the same route, as the Jensenites made their way to Dartmouth.
Old friends re-aquainted and new ones made which for me is the best part of these trips. I will admit, I met Paul with the stunning SP at the club stand at the NEC, his car fantastic, the wheels debatable, and thought not sure whether I like him. This trip has changed that, got to know him, and now he has realised these cars need to be driven, what a great bloke, not to discount his lovely partner Chris,both proved to be great company. Just shows first impressions can be wrong.
I'll also remember when Martin Kennedy dangled his keys in front of me, and said lets swap for the next stage. It was only 3 miles, but what an interesting distance that was.I was so engrossed in what I was driving I missed the Hotel, Martin following me, we both drove in from the other entrance, much to the amusement of the fellow members, who actually got confused because we were in the wrong cars. Martin's car is fantastic, the distance I drove it didn't really allow me to get used to it or really asses the difference, but I was a giggling mess and enjoyed the experience, thanks Martin, I would never have thought to do that.
I'm glad that due to the weather, I'm not the only one with damp feet, it's nice to know that even the top cars still leak.
I drove just under 700 miles over the week I was away, through some atrocious weather, including a trip to Teignmouth on Monday through more rain. The car was faultless, and I know most of us covered similar mileage, except Helen, who puts our mileage to shame, but shows a well maintained Jensen is as good as any modern, and I shocked a few on the M5 today.
Rambling on again, but why not when you have just experienced a great weekend with fabulous like minded nutters.

Couldn’t agree more with all the other comments. Great weekend with excellent company and, er, atmospheric weather. Just in the process of drying out the carpets
