Bristol Classic Car Show - 16th & 17th June

Post by Clive Bishop »

Come and enjoy the longest-running event of its kind in the UK with an incredible 38 editions under its belt, according to the organisers.

This year the JOC will have a static stand in the main pavilion and will have three cars on display as a evolution theme of the Jensen Grand Tourer style:

541
CV8
Interceptor

Adult entry bought in advance is £10 per person with free carparking and a dedicated Classic Car parking area - https://bccs.bristolclassiccarshows.com ... -car-park/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where there are so many classics and indeed like other years many Jensen's - we normally have to split ourselves between the inside static stand and outside. WE are trying (but no guaranteed) to get as many Jensen cars parked together each day in the public classic car parking area, but this is not guaranteed due to numbers of people attending and the times people arrive.

For full details of the show weekend please visit: https://bccs.bristolclassiccarshows.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There will be Wessex members and others from further a field and so we all look forward to meeting all that attend that weekend at the Shepton mallet show grounds. There are even awards for cars that are in the car parek as well as cars in the show so get those dusters out and win a award...oh and don't forget to claim your free detailer from Maguire's worth £17.00

Looking forward to seeing many members there this weekend. Last year we had over 10 each day visit the show and so looking forward to it this weekend. We will be in the main hall close to the first aid post as show on the map below.

Tickets are priced online at £10.00 per person with free parking in a designated classic cars park or regular car park if you don't bring your Jensen or any other classic.

Tickets can be bought here: https://www.classicmagazines.co.uk/product/show/id/20" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Some photos of us setting up the stand today. Peter Neale was due to arrive in the afternoon, after I had to drop Lewi and one of the other guys from Pale Classics back to Chippenham. I was hoping to get the interior in for the show but the rear panels need to be modified for the inertia reel belts now fitted. The Interceptor III belongs to one of Lewi's customers, as my family owned a number of DF (Cheltenham / Gloucestershire) plated cars I will be interested to see who the supplying dealer was.

The divider came as a surprise. Clive had to do a quick replan.

After the others had gone and Peter Neale arrived with his 541 R....All ready for the weekend now...

Sunday sees the area reps from Wessex, Devon & Cornwall and Southern Counties having a mini meeting at the show...….

On the stand we are collecting donations for Prostate Cancer UK and so any members that come over the weekend we are happy to alleviate you of all your change into the official collection bucket ! If you do, please give generously.

I will also be selling raffle tickets for the draw for the Jensen Healey Neon sign again for Prostate Cancer UK with the draw taking place at the International on the Sunday afternoon.

As car shows go it was a pretty good weekend, or at least to mid afternoon each day :D as byt then the rain had done its worse, but at least we were inside.

So each day was consistent with interested groups of people and also a steady stream of JOC members from about 6 counties !! Thank you all for visiting us and also for those that volunteered on the stand and supplied cars:

Cars present:

Interceptor H series, courtesy of Pale Classics

CV8 courtesy of Zac Marshall

541R courtesy of Peter Neale

Volunteers over the weekend on the stand:

Paul Lewis
Zac & Luke Marshall
Lindsey Bishop
Peter Neale
John Pym
Stuart Turner for filling in the gaps when we were busy :D

There are plenty of pictures on the various Jensen Facebook pages and so I will post some once I can et hold of the originals

Thank you all for attending from near and far. We collected on the stand £33.00 for Prostate Cancel UK as donations (we were not allowed to do any promotion) and I sold £37.00 of raffle tickets for the Jensen Healey sign raffle again with all proceeds going to Prostate Cancel UK. Draw to take place at the International next Sunday, so if you want tickets then contact me soon if you ARE NOT going to be there....
