Dartmouth Park

Post by Kevin Birch »

Once again looking for Jensens to attend the park in West Bromwich on 19th May. All models are welcome, and also after any other Jensen built cars to attend. Haven't got full details yet, but usually starts about 11, so turn up before then.
Very informal day with some stalls in the park, bandstand, and just wandering around the beautifully restore park itself.

We usually disappear around 3ish.

Put me down please Kev. Hopefully the car will be going by then. :D

Hopefully this won’t clash with Rejen day. I know it hasn’t the last 2 years.

Ladies and Gents,

Am still looking for cars to attend, we have Eddie' Mk2 at the moment, and mine if actually on the road by then.

Don't forget this is at West Brom, just around the corner from the factory, so an opportunity to photograph your car at the site.

Austin Healeys, Volvo P1800 and A40 sports are all welcome.

Simon, it would be great to see you and your good lady again, hopefully my old girl will be up and running by then, its taking far longer than expected. It is her 50th this year, so need to get the work done properly.

Hi Eddie,

Rejen are not doing an open day this year, I spoke to Jason, and he said they have been so busy they haven't had time to organise it. He didn't want to throw it together, and not give it the justice it deserves, which is understandable. They will be going ahead next year though.

Shame the Rejen open day isn’t going ahead. But at least it doesn’t clash.

With it being a bit later in the month fingers crossed for a bit better weather and hopefully a large turn out of cars.

With the Dartmouth Park setting, this is as good a day out as the Rejen day. So if you usually go to Rejen come to Dartmouth park instead :D :D :D

Also a great opportunity to get your car photographed outside Kelvin way :D

Any news on the engine Kev ???

Engine is running, but looks like brake servo is US, firm pedal but no stopping power, and lots of air noise from under the dash when pedal pressed. :( Will try and get one today for fitting tomorrow, so close but yet so far.

Well at least it’s running Kev.
I am sure to a man of your capabilities sorting the brakes will be a walk in the park (pardon the Dartmouth park pun)

Just a reminder to anyone else reading this, it’s only down the road from Jensen’s birth place so if you come along you can go home with a nice piccy of your pride and joy at Kelvin way :D

Kev, you never mentioned you had organised the weather for the weekend as well :D

My mate Harry is also getting married this weekend, looks like he owes you a beer for sorting the weather. I would have gone to his wedding but I had already committed to Dartmouth park :D

Eddie, your dealing with somebody from the black country, which is where the industrial revolution started, and so the weather is easy to organise. Getting people to attend is harder, I've only got 4 definates, but am hoping for some impromptu turn ups.
Apparently with the recent hot then wet then warm weather, the park is in full bloom and looking glorious.

Aim to arrive about 10:30, looking forward to comparing engine bays.
