Post by zacmarshall »

The 2018 London Classic Car Show at Excel is February 15-18th.

See the events diary for more details
https://www.joc.org.uk/events/diary/eventsbyyear/2018/

There is a discount code for JOC members which gets you two tickets for £35. There are no discounts on single tickets which are £25 each. Discount code is on the hidden section of the forum here:
https://www.joc.org.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... 67&t=26546 If you don't have access contact the membership secretary.

For those moaning about the lack of an Interceptor at the NEC (there was an FF) John is planning to have one here.

Hey Zac my old son,, i was not moaning just an observation, i really do think most people when the word Jensen is mentioned know the Interceptor, and i did not see a single one at the NEC, only the auction car, pretty crazy really when i reckon there had to be maybe 50 Astons or more, The club stand was sound otherwise,

John has asked me to post the discount here rather than the members only area as apparently no one has booked a ticket using the code yet...

The JOC members' discount code for the London Classic Car Show Thursday 15th February to Sunday 18th February 2018 is JOC. Hopefully people can remember that :-)

To book tickets :
http://www.thelondonclassiccarshow.co.uk/buy-tickets/

The organisers say that entitles members to two tickets for £35. There are no discounts on single tickets which are £25 each.

The line up of the show is:

Early Interceptor 88 (so you can see what all the fuss is about, it will be cleaned up but otherwise as bought at auction)

Interceptor S4 (Tim Clark, this is the last RHD Interceptor and will be next to the last early Interceptor, a nice juxtaposition)

541 (Bernard Tominey's fresh restoration)

C-V8 Mk111 (David Klondar, another recent restoration)

Jensen GT (Nigel Kieser)

The London Classic Car Show will be bigger than ever next year, stretching the whole of one side of the Excel exhibition centre (which should also mean there is no need to leave one hall and cross the concours to a different hall to see the car club stands), there will be the Grand Avenue again where you can see and hear the cars being driven, and 28 car clubs confirmed so far including Jagaur (times two), Bristol, Corvette, Lamborghini, XJS, TR, TVR, Quattro and Ferrari (and us).

As of Monday there will be single tickets available as well as the current 'twofer' offer (I told the organisers I was disappointed that they didn't offer single tickets at a discount, as I'm sure they did so in previous years, and they took note!), a single discounted ticket will be £20 and not £25.

The Jensen Owners' Club has been given a page in the show guide, that's a first, but featuring probably the scruffiest car we have ever shown, early Interceptor 88!

Don't forget to book your tickets and remember single discounted tickets are now available as noted above/below.

Any chance Rejen or Cropredy Bridge will have a stand? - I’ve No doubt Aston’s will have Nicholas Mee, Desmond J Smail and Aston Workshop, along with Jaguar specialists, Rolls Royce and Bentley specialists etc etc.
I live in hope...But well done to the JOC for flying the flag.

I wouldn't think so.
They dont sell cars that are worth a house- obviously.

Imagine buying a DB... from A.M other,a self claimed specialist, then spending a load on same, it still wasn't right, even the things paid for, that were not agreed- imagine that 'specialist' paying to be at this event, any.

In the classic (real) world, your rep (should) is everything, some seem to get away with boarder murder, that inst Aston Martin by the way, its everywhere, however you wouldn't get away with claiming to be specialist & doing thus if were AM- you'd last 5 seconds.

The trade at show that is selling, thats their trade, our side, skills, motor sport, engineering- well that showing uber skills-
Serious UK talent is however show cased. Engineering at its best, proper skills, the things we fear might be lost- they are there to be seen & championed they should be.
They all pay to be there also, big money.

Just assembled the display boards for the show.

Got an eclectic mix of cars alongside the Grand Avenue. Last and Last Interceptors, a 541, a C-V8 and a GT.

Hopefully will be as good as the previous shows were interest in the Jensen marque was very strong. I thin a better position this year so lets see how it goes!

...and I've spent the last few fine afternoons proving that sometimes you can polish a turd! Early Interceptor 88 is going to look quite smart, from the other end of the show.

We have a last minute change of C-V8, David Klondar has a bad gearbox leak so John Seager is bringing his Mk11 instead.

Discount tickets are still available, including single tickets (there was a problem - now fixed) if you need to book an odd number.
