JOC Spring Break 2018

Post by shaun »

Jensen Owners’ Spring Week-end
Marsh Farm Hotel
Royal Wootton Bassett
(Just 2miles from Junction 16 of the M4)
2nd – 4th March 2018

With great efficiency and foresight Jean and Wendy with help from Shaun have discovered a lovely little country hotel in Wiltshire for 2018 Spring Week-end.
We have decided that this will be, as far as possible, a complete package deal.
The package will consist of:-
Bed & Breakfast 2 nights
Unlimited tea and coffee throughout your stay
Biscuits in the morning, cake in the afternoon (Including Sunday)
Friday evening hot buffet
Saturday 3 course evening meal (Pre booked choices nearer the event date)
Traditional Sunday lunch (To be booked on arrival)
Light bites can be served during lunch 12-2pm to order (but not included in package price).

Prices for the package are as follows:-
Small double £347.60p
Standard double £367.60p
Superior double £387.60p
Executive double £407.60p
NOTE: Despite what it says on trip advisor sites this hotel has been re-furbished and the rooms are lovely. We’ve checked them out!

The Week-end will start with a meet in the bar on the Friday evening before the hot buffet.
On Saturday there will be an organised drive out through the countryside for those wishing to participate.
Both the Steam Museum of the Great Western Railway and the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet are within easy reach of the hotel, but, if you prefer not to drive, Royal Wootton Bassett High Street with its variety of shops, pubs and cafés is within easy walking distance.

How to Book:
Please telephone the hotel direct ( 01793 842800) (Please be patient as sometimes they take a time to answer) At the time of booking please let them know any specific requests you may have regarding room (extra beds can be added) or diet. Please note that the hotel does not allow dogs or other pets.
Once booking made with the hotel please inform:-
Jean (smiths.flightsrest@sky.com) or
Wendy (wendyfroomes123@btinternet.com)

NOTE: If we can fill 35 rooms the hotel has promised us exclusive use. (THAT MEANS NO WEDDING PARTIES) so please book early.

May I ask, are there any costs if members join from adjoining areas for the day time activities. Some of the Wessex area live less than 1/2 hour away from this place and so to mention the weekend in a newsletter this week, I wanted to pre-empt for some asking the same question of me.

Just tried to book to be told they are full. I've spoken to Jean and apparently the club has reserved all the rooms, I am now trying to get hold of them again :-)

Just in case anyone else gets told they are full .....

Rooms are booked in Wendy Froome's name. The gent I spoke to is trying to find out how we book rooms and get back to me.

Just spoke to the gent on reception and have now booked a room :-)

They will take a deposit on a credit card as per standard practice, if they can't find the group booking under the Jensen Owners' Club then ask them to check under Wendy Froomes (no comments please :-) )

Still a few rooms available......

The hotel have given the JOC exclusive use of the Hotel so we will not be fighting for attendance at the bar, they have promised to have permanent bar staff from midday on, so that will keep most of us happy, Rob Heydon has kindly organised a run with the cars on Saturday, there is also a 3 mile walk for the more energetic, presumably with a watering hole somewhere on route! Bill & Wendy will be in attendance from Thursday until, I think, Monday.
There will be a lot of the early club members’ joining us so come along and meet Tony Davis, Ron Smith, Chris Walton, what he doesn’t know about CV8s isn’t worth mentioning, to name only a few.
Come along and have some lovely food and drink with good company generally having a good time.

Start the season off with a party!

It is only 3 weeks away so be quick and don’t miss out, you will be disappointed!!!

For details see the first post in this thread.
