Healey needed for Bristol Show 16th - 18th June 2017

Post by Pymmie »

Hi Everyone,

This year the Bristol Classic Car Show clashes with the JOC International & Bath Festival of Speed.

As its the 45th anniversary it seems only right to have one on display at Shepton Mallet.

If you are able to help please drop me a line..

Car will need to be on site for 12pm Fri & picked up 5pm Sunday.

You will get two free tickets for Saturday & Sunday.

Thanks

If Louis does his stuff next week I shall at last be mobile again and available for Shepton Mallet. Should be able to confirm by Wednesday next, May 10th.

Tony,

I cant think of a better car...

It's nice to rotate cars but with the clash

of the international and lack of good Healey's

I'd jump at the chance to display HEA 4K

It's great shame that there are so many clashes this weekend. I have just looked at the list of current members with Jensen-Healeys and there are at least a dozen in the South West, three of which are in Somerset! I just hope there is going to be a wonderful gathering of Jensen-Healeys at the International.

Hi Helen,

The two events going on in this direct area, tend to attract more people that don't attend the International weekend, so those that want to go to the International will........if Tony's doesn't make it then Lindsey will let John use her Jensen-Healey for the weekend and we will do Bath in the Interceptor only.

Oakleigh Woods Mark 1 wont be ready, Richard Hornby is on holiday etc.

The problem is that with the Bristol show the car has to be there on the Friday and it is a static show until 5:00 pm Sunday, so your sort of all or nothing

Hi Clive,
You may be interested to know that both our Jensen-Healey and FF have been displayed at the Bristol Show when it was at the end of April coinciding with 'Drive it Day' a few years back. I have no idea why so many organisers select June weekends but it must mean they get fewer members of the public buying tickets and particularly when Bristol and Bath pick the same date. Perhaps the South West is less concerned about profit than Yorkshire!!

Yes I remember it being earlier in the year, but the problem is that they say it didn't bring in enough people because of the weather and also both hit that weekend as it is Fathers Day on the Sunday......Depending on localised response I may cancel Bath, leaving John with the Bristol show. You can but try and put things on for the region :D In the case of Bristol and Bath, a large % do one on one day and the other on the other day as there isn't enough to do either for two days unless you are exhibiting.

Most shows down this way are June / July / August due to weather and tourists in the region etc.........so it is about profits - the professional ones make more money than Spring. Bristol also has a another show in the winter period that is more like restoration and parts - that was in February this year I think and was poorly attended.
