Chris that is interesting to know. I'm with Carole Nash, so it makes me nervous. Will put a call in to them tomorrow before I leave and will quote your experience, and the contract I have with them. Not much I can do now, but will be questioning them and letting them know before the trip that if I experience this sort of customer service I will sue them for breach of contract.

After doing the posting, David reminded me that actually Carole Nash never responded. The call was from the mechanic that had been sent and he spoke very little English!

It is looking horribly as if we will be travelling by modern car rather than in the Jensen.
In spite of my increasingly frantic efforts to have it ready in time, as of this evening I have still got at least two days of wiring to do, plus dropping the engine back in. I was confident of getting ready in time, but the delay in getting the wiring finished has put paid to that, as I had reckoned on having every evening this week to finish off the various small jobs like hoses, brake bleeding etc. etc.
I have no chance to get all that done in two evenings and a Saturday (Working outside too, natch....) so it's a case of 'close but no cigar'!
Anyone else going to have to do the trip Jensenless for whatever reason?

looks like you will not be the only one beeing Jensenless.
My Interceptor is also stricly refusing to leave the garage - not because of weather conditions but there is no reverse gear anymore
I noticed some slip in D position during the last trip - started a very short and very gentle test drive after checking ATF level and all shifter levers (centre console and kick-down) thoroughly and all of the sudden the reverse gear is no longer available in whatever gear lever position.
Looks like a gearbox overhaul is to be done - no chance to drive to Chemnitz in the Interceptor - and my son's Jensen GT is also not road registered currently.

Oh dear,...... never mind.
Very good Dutch mechanic got us going but still not 100%
Antwerp Gyratory was pits. Car didn't like it nor the incessant rain and standing water.
Anyway made base camp albeit a bit late.....
At least we are still running unlike the Maserati which was in the workshop the recovery guy took us to.

Arrived at 14.30 ... no problems running down, hotel amazing, the view from our room.. Meeting some old friends and making new ones,, 672 miles from door to door.. got about 15 mpg it's great using the car for what it was built for.. Autobahns are great for Jensens'.. looking forward to tomorrow..
