Are you going to have any room for luggage with that lot?

I will be taking a starter motor an Alternator various sizes of hose and clips amongst the stuff I always carry. I will probably put my Halfords 200 piece socket set in together with some mole grips, adjustable spanner and screwdrivers.

For those that have not already taken out break down cover I rung the RAC last night, I have been a member for ages but I was also asked if I was a memeber of a car club and for 10 days cover ( we are leaving Monday morning) it has cost me £63, that has got to be a bargain. It covers me from this Saturday and if the car is not repairable within the time frame of our holiday they will get the car home and get us a hire car.

Hey Steve

Good to know that you carry the full workshop with you.
Therefore I could send our two recovery/emergency boys home.

What other luggage do I need? Away for 8 days, so that means 2 pairs of pants, 1 on and the other to change into, remember 1 pair lasts 4 days, (inside out & back to front)

Don't worry, happened to Zac and myself in 2011 going to Holland in the Jonda instead of a GT and to Ramdog going to Turin in the Ford thingy?
Being there is the important thing.
The Ford thingy? :x

I'll have you know it's a very rare pre-production Jensen Interloper

And you're right, being there is the important thing. I'm very jealous I can't make it. Have fun!

Simon it would be good to see you, your good lady and the Rampuppy. You could use the Ford thingy, and I'd follow you, even if you get lost again!!

After having the car for 4 weeks the gearbox place in Bristol finally had a look at adjusting the bands to find that there were lots of bits of broken metal in the sump. They don't recommend I drive it to Germany.

Probably just as well as I have just started having dizzy spells again

They wanted an exorbitant amount of money to remove and refit the gearbox, Pale Classics are booked up for ages so car is off to Appleyards when I get back.

So it will be my fault when we get lost in Charlie's Interceptor :-)

And no, I am not an Angel :-)

you beat me to it, I always though Charlie had a harem, but depends on your train of thought. At least your still coming.

Regarding the weather, anything has to be better than the Turin trip through France to Italy last year, not a dry day. I still use Rainex, Zac you borrowed my bottle for Polly's car, never got it back, presume it's in the trunk in the USA. :)

I'm finally dotting the i's and crossing the t's, half the boot filled with most of my garage, enough room left for the 2 pairs of underpants.

All please remember to take a spare set of keys, usually overlooked, but nothing worse than being hundreds of miles from home, and losing your keys.

I'm really looking forward to this now its here. Catching up with loads of friends made last year will be great, remember I'm still a new boy having only been here for 3 years, and Turin was a BIG event for me, car wise and meeting members wise. I checked through the old video footage of last years event, and pulling into the Eurotunnel car park, with the other cars there, I heard myself saying to Dan "I don't know any of them." Oh how that changed over the next few days, hopefully friends made for life.

Kev,

Its hard to think a number of us are doing the "Turin style" thing again. In my car this time, had a bit of a moment with it today. Changing top hose and dropped a socket into the engine bay and couldn't find it. 90 minutes later I did. Concerned it was lodged somewhere it could do damage. Totally soaked as outside in a very nasty squall and ended up very grubby.
Still the beast is now ready. Hose looks like a transit camp with bags and boxes of "stuff" to take.
Roll on Wednesday!
