Just checking the wheels out, I think my Interceptor would look good on 48 inch wire rims, would probably do 200 mph then

a. Thank you Jens, and everyone who was involved, for organizing this weekend. It was fantastic.
b. There were 80 cars there, all at least as cool as mine- I thought. But thank you!
c. Heading towards Dresden today on the autobahn there was a very loud bang- scary. Turns out the gasket was torn apart. We secured the exhaust with some wire, supplied by a friendly local, and continued our drive to Dresden. The car is so loud with a split manifold, not to mention the fumes in the car. First class parking in Dresden, in front of the Staatskanzlei, the office of Saxony's minister. I don't know how Joerg pulled this off.

Re: Jensen Meeting in Saxony - September 2017
Today we did Colditz, all I can say is incredible, and I found the new art display of the concrete matresses very moving, to the point I didn't take any photos out of respect. It is a new installation, with little information on the net, but here is a start , if you wamt to learn more of the attrocities that happened here,
follow this link. http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-coldit ... 02541.html
On A lighter note, other photos ;
Nigel thinking, how many f****ng steps have we come up? Replica of the glider built for 2 men to escape off the roof. It was never used, as the castle was liberated before it was finished. Follow this link to the Channel 4 documentary, it is well worth watching.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBjTmqbNSC0
Matt and Myself, along side a photo of Airey Neave in German uniform, which was made by the Polish prisoners, before his escape. He was the first British Officer to successfully escape from Colditz, but not the last.
Hope all that are travelling back are doing so successfully, after a great weekend, I know a lot of you have concerns for me and my gearbox, and I thank you, but I am not rushing and all is going well so far, and don't see it gettng any worse. I will post on here when I get home or otherwise, and will continue on my planned journey home, just a little slower. I thank everybody for their company, especially to Jens, Jeorg and Normski, for making all of us welcome and look forward to seeing you all at future events.

Re: Jensen Meeting in Saxony - September 2017
Thank you Jens and Jörg and all others involved for an absolutely fantastic weekend. Not only was the weather far better than any weather forecast had anticipated, the scenic route was great. We cheated a bit and did a slightly alternative route by following the map sections as close as possible using the TomTom. The hotel and staff were brilliant, so was the food and beer. Dresden is beautiful and we would have loved to stay there for a few more days. Best of all though was the splendid comradery amongst the participants.
This must have been one of the biggest International Jensen events so far with 80+ cars, all Jensen's bar a few oddballs like an MGB, TVR Tuscan, Aston Martin, Mercedes and one or two daily drivers.
It was also very nice to get waves from the drivers of the little Trabants, still being around as daily drivers in reasonable numbers apparently. We encountered quite a few of them.
Luckily there were no serious mishaps I am aware of other, than a (very) few minor mechanical issues, like loose wires, gaskets and manifolds, that did not interfere much with the enjoyment of the weekend.
The Jensen-Healey did not miss a beat. It got a real hammering on the way coming and the return yesterday and the day before, fairly long and fast stretches on the Autobahn and torrential rain yesterday from around Osnabrück Eastwards towards home.
Just once or twice nothing happened but a click when trying to start, probably lose/dirty connections at the starter motor or battery or perhaps an ignition lock playing up.
Up to the next meeting!

Felix's car on its way now.
We woke up the whole neighbourhood this morning. Broken manifold means racing car sound.

Re: Jensen Meeting in Saxony - September 2017
Thank you Jens, thank you Joerg!! Very much appreciated. The upside to this is that I got to drive in various Interceptors (thank you again Peter for the tour you arranged for us on Sunday). Unfortunately I missed the chance to hop into Andi's FF on the way home. I did not know an FF could go that fast, and the acceleration was excellent too.
Heini drove us home after dinner in Dresden on Sunday in his Int Mk3. His wife Larissa on the passenger seat, Mark and I in the back we reached speeds of upto 210 kmh (clearly visible on the Tomtom). He did get an occasional stern glance from Larissa, while Mark and I were grinning happily in the back as we glided effortlessly through the night over the German Autobahn. What great cars they built at Jensen...
PS Grant- I missed you there!

Probably not- the C-V8 should ideally be ready again for our next meet in 2 1/2 weeks. Then I don't have any overheating issues whatsoever, although less weight is always welcome. Thirdly and most importantly, they theoretically aren't tolerated by the Swiss MOT if not originally fitted.Grant wrote:I guess it may be Stainless headers time for you now Felix is it not?
The C-V8 does look pretty good doesn't it- they also look good on the FF/Interceptor.
