Hi Chris/Shaun
Fantastic work to get so much recognition for the Jensen in it's birth city - well done all concerned.
Chris - the chap you mentioned on the Friday who knew lots of the parts from other italian bins; did he mention the door handles?
Can we know the full list of the parts he did know or is that proprietary knowledge now?
all the best

Door handles we know were Fiat Samantha and Maserati Mexico. Originally made by Safe (pronounced in Italy as Safay).ChrisG wrote:Hi Chris/Shaun

Mk1 Lock button was Lancia Flavia and Lancia Fulvia Sedan. Made by Safe.
Rear lights were Lancia Flavia Coupe Pininfarina.
Door Lock also Lancia Fulvia Coupe, also made by Safe, who also made door locks for trains

First car is a Vespa 400 built by Piaggio with a 2 stroke 2 cylinder engine
These cars were built in France in Nevers near Many Cours racetrack. History says that M. Agnelli was quite angry as it was a direct competitor to the Fiat 500 so he forbid all italian companies working for FIAT to provide any parts to Piaggio. So Piaggio ended up building the car in France using French sub components.
I have driven this car in Paris and it is great fun

Interceptor 11 125/5002.
I decided to display an LHD car at Earls Court (EC)in 1969 to demonstrate further our interest in expanding our overseas dealer network. In particular we were looking for representation in Germany, and the Scandinavian countries. Earls Court was the biggest annual international motor show and was visited by many European dealers and customers.
Just before the show we confirmed the appointment of F M Tarbuck (US Chrysler dealers) in Vienna to cover Austria and 125/5002 was destined together with 5001 as their first cars. Potential sales in Austria were very small, of course, but we were just as interested in Service coverage for the benefit of all Jensen owners. The official launch in Austria was scheduled for early November that year.
I will write the account of how Mike Chambers, my assistant sales manager and technical rep, and myself got ourselves and the two cars to Vienna for the magazine.

Car colour matches the hangar doors. Very nice.
