JOC Tour of North Devon 6th-8th Oct 2017

Post by Pymmie »

We now have a confirmed date & location for this tour.

I have reserved 20 rooms on a first come basis as follows:

5 x luxury rooms

10 x sea facing 1st floor rooms

5 x side/rear facing rooms.

Cost is £195 per night (double/twin) inc. dinner , deposits are £100 per room.

My advice is to book early to get one of the better rooms.

Please book DIRECT with the Commodore quoting JOC & let me know.

Look forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks to local North Devon J.H owners Chris & Rose Roberts we have sorted out lunch on the Saturday.

We will be visiting the stunning location of Lynton & Lynmouth.

A buffet lunch will be served at the Rock House Hotel , Lynmouth

I will hopefully sort out a group discount for the famous cliff railway upto Lynton.

The scenery is stunning, and steeped in history.

Been in Lynmouth and Lynton in 1998 after receiving my MBA degree from Henley and stayed there for four days. A fantastic place and a very interesting history.

The pictured railway runs on 100% water energy - a great piece of engineering.

Very well chosen, John 8)

Really pleased with the response so far.

7 Rooms booked which is already 1/3.

Once advertised in the JOC magazine and social media i'm sure they will all go.

A quick update on the tour.

I have now sorted out the Sunday event. We will be heading down the coast from the

hotel to the unique village of Clovelly (approx 14 miles)

We will have reserved spaces in the car park and group discount to enter the village.

There is no vehicular access to the village , with a steep cobbled street winding its

way down the hillside to the Harbour/Quayside.

There's plenty to do with 2 museums , a craft workshop and a 400 year old pub.

Later in the day we will have a late lunch/afternoon Tea on the Harbourside in

the Red Lion. Theres plenty of local produce with the fish caught from the boats

moored in the harbour and lots of Devon based beers & wines.

Looking forward to it...

1. Pym
2. Newby
3. Murtagh
4. Cawthron
5. Cope
6. Collingham
7. Bishop
8. Salway
