Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show 2014

Post by alanB »

This is the largest show in the Irish calendar and well worth a visit if any overseas members fancy a trip to the home of the real pint. Its a well run show with a good if eclectic mix of vehicles.

A few years ago we had eight mk1 Interceptor/FF variants on the stand and a total of 12 jensens making us one of the larger clubs on display. Unfortunately last year we only had two attendees which doesn't I think reflect the actual level of interest in the marque over here. It would be great to rebound this year with a good display of machines, the show is on 6th July in the usual venue - Terenure College, Dublin. Entry fee is only EURO 10 if you apply before 20th June and that includes a commorative (gold edged no less) plate. Full details from the web site http://www.irishjagclub.ie" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Can people let me know if they think they can attend and I'll make contact with the organisers to see about getting a reserved area once I know approximate numbers.

I was at Ballybrit today and bumped into several people. The first were Jag owners club committee members so I questioned them regarding our stand and they were able to confirm we had an area allocated which is very prominent facing the Jag stand and the pedestrian entrance.

The second was a JH owner of a lovely original Irish car from Meath who will confirm with me tomorrow if he is able to attend.

So with any luck this is shaping up to be a good show...........

Excellent news Justin, I didn't hear back after I wrote to them but they allocate stands on the basis of numbers so we must have a sufficient quota.

With all these nicely restored motors showing up maybe I'll stick the JH at the back under a tarpaulin...

There was a marquee and two flags which Ian passed on to Tony but I don't know what happened them after that.

I got my entry in the post yesterday, our stand is shown OK - beside AXA and opposite the Jag club so just turn right when you enter the field and drive right down to the end and thats where we are. There are usually some really well restored cars on the AXA stand so between them and the Jag guys we ar e definitely in the top marque section of the show - as of course it should be.
