Spring Break 2022

Post by RichardGibson »

Hi All
I hope you are well.
As you will probably remember the Spring Break event for this year (2021) had to be unfortunately cancelled thanks to the Covid pandemic and subsequent lockdown situations.
Hopefully this will not be the situation in the coming spring of 2022 with the vaccine roll out etc.
It is therefore my intention to propose a Spring Break for 2022.
I have negotiated a room rate at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness for the weekend of Friday the 22nd, Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of April 2022.
If this is agreeable to members who would wish to attend could you please let me know by e-mail on scotland@joc.org.uk in order to allow me to get an idea of numbers.
If there is sufficient interest I will continue to organise the weekend.
Costs for staying at the hotel are as follows:-
Friday night 2 people staying bed and breakfast = £150.00 (double room)
Saturday night 2 people staying B&B plus evening meal = £205.00 (double room)
Sunday night 2 people staying B&B = £130.00 (double room)
I also plan to organise a visit to the Elgin Motor Museum on Saturday among other things.
Hope you are interested and will attend.
Regards
Richard

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the update on this event, Karan and I would love to attend. Do you have a cut off date of when these prices for the hotel is good until?

Hi Raj
Nice to hear from you and thanks for saying you will attend the Spring Break.
I believe there will now be an announcement in the next magazine concerning it.
I have agreed to the prices which will stand, but I am awaiting a cancellation policy should Covid interfere again.
Look forward to seeing you again.
Currently I have 5 acceptances.
Take care.

Hi Richard,
I would love to join you for the Spring Break. Can you get a price for a single occupancy?

Hi Helen
Good to see that you are well.
Thanks for your message stating you are interested in attending the Spring Break next year.
I have asked the hotel for a single room price.
As soon as I get the necessary information I will post it on the forum.
At present I am trying to assess interest in the Spring Break in Inverness.
I have thus far organised the hotel and intend, now, to firm up the information needed. I did visit several local hotels but I believe the Drumossie is best suited for our needs.
More details to follow.
Regards
Richard

It would be great to get a few more people on this trip. Richard G, thank you very much for organising what should be a fantastic outing.
