My Early Mk3 Interceptor Restoration project

Timing should be 10 - 12 Degreee BTDC at idle with vacuum disconnected and going up to 34-38 at 2800 rpm.
7 degree seem too early, and cherry red headers are not normal - looks like to much pre-ignition to me.

It was set about 10-11 BTDC and ended up around 34-36 at 2,800 rpm

Headers no longer glow after the inital start up when we altered the settings..

Interesting the dip when secondaries come in. I can obviously get above the UK

speed limit without summoning the extra power..

Just looking for an excuse to wear my Jensen tie that was given to me by ex Jensen employee Ken Beauchamp and my xmas pressie cufflinks.

I believe the tie is quite rare.

It’s been 2 1/2 years since my Jensen was resprayed.
Took it back to Martin and his team for a mop/polish and
touch up of any stone chips.

Covered around 5,000 miles since September 2015
Interesting drive back in the snow as garage is on the edge
of Dartmoor.

Have you thought of getting a carcoon or a cair-o-port? You could get one of the rigid framed ones under the car port and keep the car in a sort of "air conditioned" environment and not have a car cover touching the paint.

First real run out over the weekend in 2018.

290 miles return trip to Bowood House , Wilts.

Points now replaced with Pertronix as well as 12V coil.

Definite improvement.

So after a month shy of 8 years of ownership I finally

meet the Prince of Darkness. Lucas to his friends.

After a first run out of 290 miles in early May everything

was fine and when getting home I always leave the ignition on

for a few minutes and note when the fans go off.

I was more than a little surprised last weekend when on a relatively

short trip of 20 miles I arrived at the show with steam exiting through

everyone of the louvres in the bonnet.

A quick diagnostic soon found the problem, burnt out relay.

Mustn’t complain as they all look original.

Had already ordered one whilst still at the show and fitted

tonight , everything back to normal.
