My second Jensen

Post by Johnfromholland »

I have finaly been able to buy the 1974 Brienz blue Interceptor MK3 I know since the International Weekend in june 2003, on which I had the Right of first refusal since june 2006.

Thank you Don & Jose for taking years of care of this 30.000 mile car in very good and original condition. They bought it as a second owner from a man in a dress (in Ryad Saudi Arabia, 1977) who traded in secondhand cars. He said the first owner was a sheik (aren't they all around there?). In 1979 the car was driven to England. I will be driving the car more often, but will keep it in good condition. Stay in good health Don & Jose!

Replace old tyres? Why would John waste money on something like that? I'm sure nothing would go wro... oh dear... New tyres please!

John,

when I bought the 541 the tyres were nearly 20 years old. I didn't notice in the first place how old they really were  but they were the first thing to be changed after the 1.100 km ride from the Channel to Munich.

An investment that is REALLY worth the money.

Very nice sheepskin seats, BTW. Ultracool 8) 8) 8)

Congratulations John

It's been a long wait, but well worthwhile in the end :D

When I bought my FF 2 years ago, the tyres had only done about 500 miles, but were many, many years old. I changed them very soon after I got the car, and was amazed to see the old tyres, when removed from the wheels and stacked on their sides, were all OVAL  . No wonder the ride was a bit bumpy on the way home :!:

Enjoy it, and look after it.

Jensen's Place

Lets have some more pictures of the house
Jean, your question has nothing to do with Jensen, except that it's parked beside it. But since you asked for it, and we are quite proud with it: here's some more pictures of what my wife Dionne and I build in the weekends and eveninghours of 1995/1996. I hope the moderator is in a good mood. Build in Almere, a 185.000 inhabitants city of only 32 years young on reclaimed land just east of Amsterdam. We won the city's Architectual Price of 1999 with it. Uh, well, actually the architect http://www.renevanzuuk.nl did. Basicly it's a regular 3-bedroom 120m2 house, just shaped in a slightly different way.

Jens, you are quite well informed. To tell you the truth, it's build to fight the windmills. Just as the Armada did

John,

I have some fairly new tyres on a Jensen I have sat on my drive, I could let you have them for a small price  .

Good to see you got home alright. The car looked just right when we followed it the short distance. It was sat at a good height.

How did the car show go? Good luck with the car.

Oi Mush, get off the forum if you're not going to talk cars.

Dan.
