There was a bit of head scratching around how to shape the boot carpet around the sender unit of the larger Mk2/3 fuel tank but Jason now has a plan...

The team are doing some lovely work trimming the carpet edges with the mocha leather (there was no way we would have found a matching brown vinyl). With the original bitter chocolate Wilton carpet no longer available we were relieved to see that the alternative carpet we chose is an excellent match for the Connolly Vaumol mocha leather...

And best of all the mocha leather really sets off the tangerine body work. It's a bold choice (albeit one that has been done before in 117/3139) but it really works and seems to attract universally positive comments. Phew!

Hopefully the retrim will be done by Xmas, so the team at Chris Marsh Classics can crack on and get the car finished fairly quickly in the New Year. Not quite in the home straight, but nearing the end of the back straight I reckon.
