14784 gone to a new home
14784 gone to a new home
The last 10 years it yielded parts for my "new" J-H 15401.
It was a bit of a sad day but I was never going to restore it and it is currently being rebuild as a race car apparently. I wish the new owners luck and as much enjoyment of the car as I had.

Kees - it seems an original 1976/7 Dutch registration. How come it is RHD? Or was it, as a second hand car, privately imported in 1976?

Hello Dion,
It was a privately imported car from the UK. I was the third owner.

Well, I got an unexpected offer I could not refuse from the fellows on one of the pictures when they were collecting parts for their project J-H. They saw my car and remarked that it was in much better shape than their own car and wanted to know how much I wanted for it. I told them I did not know but I was open for offers. They made me a very good offer plus an order for even more parts so I decided to let it go. Car gone, a lot of bulky parts gone and space for me to build my new engine project.

Wot, pray, happened to the race car? Sounds like they saw a great opening for a quick quid. Wonder what condition is. Perhaps just a fast make over. Kees, you cooda been rich!! Kenny38

The car was sold without papers but somehow they managed to get the old registration number back. They changed plans obviously when they found out that it could be back on the road again. They did a good job with the restoration and did spend a lot of money and time on the important bits. The car has been fully dismantled and rebuild. A fair bit of bodywork had to be carried out. All parts and bolts have been either painted/powder coated or Cadmium plated.
They made one mistake though by not keeping the old KONI shocks but replacing them with new AVO's. The KONI's were returned to me. These will be checked, rebuild if necessary, painted and they will replace the not so good fairly new SPAX shocks.
I advised them to make the stainless steel upper bumper as straight as possible, skim with a bit of filler and paint them instead of buying new ones. It looks rather good really.
The asking price however is rather optimistic and I am quite sure that not much money, if any, will be earned by them. I guess the selling price will be around €15.000.
