This is how the car looked when I purchased it late in 2018. The previous owner imported the car to Australia. One of the reasons that he put the car on the market was because he found it quite stressful to drive as a lot of drivers would drive up really close in order to try and identify the car.

Re: C-V8 MkII 104/2235
The last photo in the first set shows the car on the JOC stand at the Bromley Pageant of Motoring, but I don't remember Bob, the owner, ever showing his car on the main JOC stand, he would always be with Hugh Allen and couple of other Sussex area cars on a different stand, but obviously he did the join main group at least once. In the same photo notice the girl on the right, with brown hair in a pony tail and a black top and pink trousers, looking hard at the girl on the left with brown hair in a pony tail, black top and pink trousers, she's not happy!

Beautiful car Rohan - congratulations!

I have similar feelings driving my car as I notice more drivers are distracted from using their mobile phones by having to drive...

Fortunately I live in a rural environment. Given it's a C-V8 I'll be overtaking any other drivers I come across. Afterall, according to the June 1965 edition of Sports Car World "You tend to become insular because the enormous safety margin for overtaking traffic prevents you getting involved with other motorists and their problems. If you feel disposed to put 120 mph on the speedo between bends, then this is okay because you can get it off again with equal ease. And you can get around corners faster than practically anything else you are likely to meet in 100,000 miles"hemi wrote:Beautiful car Rohan - congratulations!

Enjoy the car Rohan,
It was a shame to loose it from the cars here in WA (my car is pictured just to the left of yours on the last pic - think it was the Shannons classic car day in Whiteman Park), but really glad it stayed in Australia.
Enjoy it.
Cheers
Andrew

Here's some more, from 2014.
I think the wheels have since been changed.

Yes I have both sets of wheels. The offset on those black steel wheels with hubcaps was completely wrong and it made the car look quite odd.

Re: C-V8 MkII 104/2235
It was a fair old exercise to purchase it from WA. My schedule meant that I couldn't get over to Perth so I asked my brother to fly over to inspect the car on my behalf. He picked up quite a few mechanical faults but none of them were big issues in the scheme of things. I was less nervous on my wedding day than I was when negotiating on the buy price. On one hand I hadn't even seen the car and hence wasn't sure what problems may exist with it and on the other hand I figured another C-V8 was unlikely to turn up for sale in Australia for another 5 years and importing one from the UK or EU would be a very expensive prospect by the time freight, luxury car tax and GST were paid, and then there was the issue of proving that the car contains no asbestos which is almost impossible to do.AndrewP wrote:Enjoy the car Rohan,

The arrival! It came over from Perth to Melbourne enclosed on a train and then was trucked from there.
Safely tucked up in the shed.
