Colin - I was not planning to have the cross pipe at all. Wanted the noise through original dual exhaust set up without interference. However muffler guys gave me the choice at the time and I took it. They believe it assists (only slightly) in balancing the exhaust gas pulse from each exhaust bank and in some cases (usually at lower revs) will slightly increase low end torque. I believe you can also request an X pipe system where each exhaust side pipe actually merges the exhaust flow with each other on the way out and this style is supposed to improve performance at the higher revs. Personally if I was had the same option again I would not do it. The original car did fine without it. I hope it does not effect the exhaust note I am looking for when I finally start the car in the next month or so. Cheers

Just got the car back from the Painter. Even he loved the colour. Prussian Steel - really gunmetal with a tinge of green through it. Very happy with it. Just test fitting some pieces. Still have to complete wiring and installation of hybrid air conditioning system. Hope to get ready for all interior retrimming by month end. After 4.5 years it is good to finally start to fit all the chrome pieces etc that have been up in the roof all this time. Still hoping to finish project by late April. Cheers.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. The interior colour you see is just the red oxide primer. Cannonball - Actual interior trim ie seats, door cards with be in bone/buckskin with piping that matches car exterior colour. I think it will look pretty good. Wheels are sprint masters 215 pirrelli centuratos on 15x7 rims. Nice fit in guards. Slotcarone - you would be pleased to know that from previous posts I did replace rubber fuel line section to all metal.

I am with Cannonball - an oxblood red interior would be a fantastic combination with the paint colour.
Your choice of course but retrimmed interiors with a piping colour other than factory standard always manage to look cheap somehow. Just my opinion :D

Finally after 5.5 years (not full time) my 1969 Mk 1 Jensen is now basically finished on the outside. Color is Prussian Steel with bone trim. I think it has come up really well.
Some details on restoration include the following
1. Engine completely rebuilt including new bearings, seals, rings, heads slightly shaved, new push rods, new water pump, petrol pump, sizzy, electronic ignition.
2. Transmission overhauled/rebuilt.
3. Edelbrock 1406 Carby, and inlet manifold, original exhaust manifolds ceramic coated, 2" - 3" exhaust exit, 2 x 11"Calibre electric fans
4. Brakes updated with Holden master cylinder and servo. Nice and compact and effective.
5. Integrated Air Conditioning. Blowing thru 3 front vents (normal, hot or cold) . Works in recirculate mode. 2 x 9" Calibre electric fans for front condenser.
6. All new interior leather trim. I also added some headrests as the clips and holes were there. Thought a waste not to add them on to seats.
7. Still some hiccups with Cam Gear steering rack and some minor electrical oddities which can hopefully be resolved over the next couple of weeks. Also will be using different rubber piece for bonnet seal when I get it.

What a stunning car!
Love the colour. Good to see you kept the leather piping the same colour :D Your air con installation is very interesting - what controls do you use for it? Happy with the performance of the AC?

Martin, Rap and Dion - thanks for the comments. Dion - original heater box has been replaced with a combination evaporator and heater core combined in the original outer casing covered in silver etc. Have been able to hide it all behind dash. The heater control is simple. Just pull handle next to steering column and turn (selectaride) internal pan fan on. Fitting the pan fan required a lot of metal surgery to ensure all flow went up vertically and entered the 3 hoses attached to the front 3 vents. If you want aircon on you obviously push heater knob in to stop any further hot water coming through. You then simply activate Aircon compressor clutch and I utilise the original selectaride dial which is the progressive fan from low through to hi airflow. Have utilised 3 front vents only. Have not connected demist pipes because it was tricky and I did not want to lose any airflow air coming thru there. Engine fans have thermostatic control as per normal. I have manual toggle to operate front condensor fans.

On console cigarette lighter has been replaced by USB inlet. Selectaride operates main (and only) fan which forces out hot, cold (or normal interior temp air). Couple of spare toggles there that are no longer needed. Also added ignition light as well. Will get around to getting baby icon labels for toggle faces later on.

Stunning looking car, may I ask has the exhaust not changed? And can you tell any difference with the H pipe?
