Interceptor mk2 123/3708
Hi!
Short introduction. My father had this Interceptor since the early 80s and he was very activ in the Swedish Jensen club. Due to lack of time it has been in a barn for about 20 years and in a garage about 10 years before that. Last time it was on the road was in the late 80s. Now me and my brothers have taken over and the first step (one year later than planned) is tomorrow when we shall try to get it from the very back of the barn to the front of the barn. Then in a few weeks get a trailer and take it to a better place where we can get a good look and a "damage control". Hopfully it will be on the road again this summer.
The plan to get it moving tomorrow is to put two straps under the front (any advice where to attach the straps?) and pull it out. Problem could be that the brakes are stuck but we will deal with that when it is a fact. If you have any other advice about step 1 it´s just to write them here.
Wish us luck!
Regards
Fredrik

Yes I have googled pictures how it looks underneath and that looks like the best place even if it looks like there is brake lines or something like that.

I would also try to free the brakes before moving or you could do other damage
Only working half a day now.

Re: Interceptor mk2 123/3708
It turned out to be easier than we thought. We found two good spots underneath to attach straps and then connect them with one long strap. Then it was just to inflate the tires, put it in neutral and pull it out. Next step will be to get the trailer and free it from the barn.

We have only made a quick check under and it didnt look to bad. The biggest consern so far is that it is total dead in the electronic system.

Your electrical problem is most likely going to be bad connection related.

Re: Interceptor mk2 123/3708
After having som touble with the spark we found out that it was a bad breaker point so after a litte bit of rubbing there was a spark strong enough to get it started!

Re: Interceptor mk2 123/3708
Now its the end of the summer and all free time has been spent on the car. It has been full focus just to try and pass the MOT test so there is alot of work ahead. But last week she passed the MOT! My brother even took her to the local car show this weekend and got a lot of attention. Not many people in Sweden knows about Jensens so it was fun to give them the story. Now its planning the winter and make a list of whats most important to do till next season. One of the questions is whether to keep the aluminum wheels or to put on (what I think is the original) mk2 wheels that is kept in the basement. I like the aluminum but it would be fun to give her the original look again. What do people in JOC think about this?
Attached some pictures from the car show. 30+ years ago she was on a show last time!

Re: Interceptor mk2 123/3708
I reverted to the rostyle wheels on my Mk2 from Mk3 alloys and I am really pleased with how they look. Guess I am hooked on the originality of things.
