Dirk.. Your car looks superb :wink: .. but,.. if that is the original design Chrysler alternator which it looks like you should really treat the car to a better one.. the Mitsubishi Pajero 1990's type fits a treat, that old design Chrysler one is not up to the job I am afraidImage.. it will get you caught out Image

Hi Grant,

Thanks for the tip I will look in to it.
I talked with JIA about the altenator to have a heat resistant one. And they supplied this one.
First thing to check in 2019!

Yes I agree with Grant. Heat is not an issue with these alternators. That looks like a standard 60 amp Chrysler unit from the '60's that came on our cars. It may have a much higher output since it looks like a new unit and could be different inside. Check it out!! Modern alternators will have a much higher amp rating but the big difference is they will put out much higher amps at low RPMs such as at idle. :)

From someone who has recently shared the pain, and cost, of a total restoration,fabulous work, well done you and your team. We should offer our two cars for the JOC stand at the NEC next year :wink:
