Fuel Injection options...
Fuel Injection options...
Hi all I'm on again asking for advice. I'm currently at the engine rebuild stage (pretty much the final big element of my car restoration) and am considering swapping the carb for a modern fuel injection system. My interceptor is a 1973 'J' series III. What system/s can anyone recommend, and where from?

Re: Fuel Injection options...
Mark, seeing as you have it in pieces like that you need to get a set of pistons and raise the compression in those "J" series cars, get it up to around 9.5:1 or a bit higher, with Fuel injection too and poss a mapped ignition system then you'l be flying my Ole Fruit
The J series cars are low compression.. around 8.2:1 , change the cam for 69 roadrunner or similar spec,

Hi Grant thanks for the advice. A cursory Google search only shows one company selling conversion kit:

Have you come across any others?

Hi MarK
I just had Fitech installed. Its great!
http://fitechefi.com/products/30002/
It gets tons of amazing reviews and I can see why. This is an easy way to go with a self learning throttle body version!
relatively easy installation and works a treat and I no longer cause watering eyes at idle!

Re: Fuel Injection options...
I have the Fitech too. If you can't persuade someone to bring one back from the U.S. for you, they are available from Serck Motorsport here in the UK.

Re: Fuel Injection options...
Hi Guys many thanks for everyone's input. I've decided to go with a Holley Sniper self-learning EFI conversion - will keep you posted on how it goes... Here's a couple more engine pix. To see the whole story, check out my Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/96485131@N02/albums
