Well done! I like those kick plates from Andy, too. They really dress up that dull aluminum.

Very nice. I like the house behind too, I presume that's yours?
Noticing the license plate I thought I'd read up about it.
It seems you can't really use the car whenever you want to. For example, to go an visit a friend who might also happen to have a classic car of some kind would not be permitted because it wouldn't be organised by a club. And if you lived for example in Newcastle and wanted to get something done to the car in Sydney because you prefer that persons work you wouldn't be permitted to just drive the car there unless whatever club you belong to has recorded the trip! Which means phoning up the club official and in effect seeking that persons permission to drive your car.
It seems very restrictive. Is it possible to have it registered for normal road use just like any other car?

Re: Jensen Kenny38
Chris,
There has been a recent change to 'Historic' vehicle regulations in NSW which (now) allow for the vehicle to be used for 60 days annually without any record of use as previously sanctioned by a club. Such use as you've described. In addition, the plates are registered with the club, and therefore details of the car are not readily available to authorities such as the Police - making a roadside review of the use of the vehicle (by Police) nearly impossible. I understand the fee for such use is around $40 (AUD) for the plates and whatever the club membership is.
In comparison, an annual registration fee (in NSW) is about $1000 and then your choice of insurance cover
It is a nice car, and Ken is a nice fellow.

I'm trying to stay in his good books! - Ken once arranged for helicopter gunships and men in suits to visit me should my Jensen Club of Australia subscription not be paid... As I recall there was a delayed transfer, so the troops were stood down.Grant wrote:It is a lovely Car Ken has there Matt .. Re: How to post photos
Just to spoil your day of pleasure and in the interests of more boring self promoting stuff here are a few more pics of my car. 131/4592 SP.It was a total project when I got dudded. Unusually bought with my heart. Was a nightmare. Now running a 770 Holley with a warmed up rebuilt engine with all new hi performance pistons with "hi cam" and something Scorchers put on later to smooth it out as the rocking from the engine was to much.Scorchers refused to "do" the rebuild including brake pistons unless they were given their head with no arguments. They rebuilt to rally specs and increased BHP to tested 410. Regrettably some of the horses have bolted since i think. A body off and derust from circa 1995 plus new interior about 2000. All repairs have been carried out professionally as am pretty useless with a spanner. Have done just over GENUINE 100K from all zeros. As I drove out the garage door the gauge clicked over to nil.As all Jensen gauges do at 100K, Down the road I ran out of petrol. It was pissing down and I had to walk around a mile to nearest station. I had to conduct a swearing in at a large citizenship ceremony that evening and was not happy with my appearance. Some papers suggested I was a little tired and emotional. Was later refused entry to a posh resturant. I sent the health inspectors round there the following week resulting in a closure for 3 days. f%^$# them! Turned up again a week later and they were really nice with a decent bottle on the house and managed to keep the (probably) illegal workers out of sight. Have always been slightly deranged. To many rounds in my yoof I have been told. 131/4592 is used on a regular basis on local club "runs" for lunch. About 3 a month. No exaggeration she runs smoothly like a new car, has plenty of top and lower end power which am careful about these days. Will eventually put new 6 pack back on when time to move on. Either I will or my widow will. Don't much care. Have really loved my Jensen and she was always top of my bucket list. She has won a few awards. It was a hard, expensive journey and a much needed lesson in the perils of buying cars. Have met and cherished many friends from the JOCA, plus nowdays the local classic car club. Blessings be upon you and your camels. Calver R. is coming to stay soon so if you have any questions about life and ceremonial goats now is the time to ask.kenny38
